The G20 Film Festival began in New Delhi. India's G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant inaugurated the festival. Satyajit Ray's Pather Panchali was the opening film. The festival aims to celebrate and showcase a vibrant and collaborative partnership existing amongst the G20 and invited countries in the field of cinema. The festival is organised by the India International Centre (IIC) and the G20 Secretariat of the Ministry of External Affairs. The event will continue till the 2nd of September.

Centre Renames Nehru Memorial as Prime Ministers' Museum and Library
The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) was officially renamed as the Prime Ministers' Museum and Library Society, Nripendra Misra, chairperson of the executive council of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) said.
In mid-June, during a special meeting of the NMML Society, it was resolved to change its name to PMML Society.
The decision was taken at a special meeting of the Memorial Museum and Library Society which was presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is the Vice-President of the Society.

Telangana Folk Singer Gaddar Passes Away
Renowned folk singer and activist Gaddar, who had been battling severe heart disease, passed away at the age of 74.He had been undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad for the past 10 days following a cardiac arrest.
Gaddar, also known as Gummadi Vittal Rao, gained popularity primarily through his stage name. He earned the title of the people's singer due to his songs that brought attention to various issues faced by the common people. Additionally, he showcased his acting skills in a few films, including "Maa Bhoomi" and "Rangula Kala".
Gaddar was born into a Dalit family in Medak district of Telangana in 1949. During the 1980s, he went underground and became associated with the People's War Group, an underground communist party in India. He founded the Jana Natya Mandali, a Delhi-based theatre company which later evolved into the cultural wing of the naxalite outfit.

President of India Inaugurates 'Unmesha' and 'Utkarsh' Festivals in Bhopal
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu inaugurated 'Unmesha' – International Literature Festival and 'Utkarsh' – Festival of Folk and Tribal Performing Arts at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, organised by by the Ministry of Culture in association with Sahitya Akademi and Sangeet Natak Akademi.
The festival, based on folk art, music and literature, was held in Bhopal for the first time.
Around 800 artists from 36 states and union territories of the country participated in the festival and spread a colourful shade of folk and tribal performing arts.

UAS Opens First-of-its-kind Agriculture Science Museum in Bengaluru
With the aim of imparting knowledge on the evolution of agriculture practices to students and the general public, the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) opened a first-of-its-kind museum on its campus in Bengaluru.
This came in the context of rapid urbanisation that has virtually disconnected the younger generation from agricultural practices with many not knowing how foodgrains are cultivated in rural India.
Minister of Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy and Pro-Chancellor, UAS-B, inaugurated the museum.
It has live models and history of agriculture. The museum is based on various themes and models, displayed in six rooms, to cover the diverse aspects of agriculture.
