Kashmiri Music Legend Ustad Ghulam Nabi Shah, 'Hamle Bulbul', Passes Away

Ustad Ghulam Nabi Shah, affectionately known as Hamle Bulbul, the celebrated torchbearer of Kashmiri folk music and culture, passed away. Revered for his soulful voice, exceptional mastery over the sarangi, and contributions to preserving Kashmiri lok sangeet, Shah's demise marks the end of a golden era in Kashmir's artistic and cultural history.
He was honoured with the Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Award (2011) for contributions to Kashmiri Lok Sangeet, and received numerous cultural accolades throughout his life for elevating Kashmiri music.

Ex-Gujarat CM Rupani, Dies in Plane Crash

Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was on the Air India flight that crashed in Ahmedabad, died. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft bound for London crashed after taking-off near Ahmedabad airport.
Rupani served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from August 2016 to September 2021, before resigning ahead of the 2022 state elections.
Vijay Rupani is the second politician who served as the Gujarat CM who died in an air accident, sixty years after Balwantrai Mehta's death in a 1965 plane crash.
