Tinder, Yuvaa Jointly Launch 'Let's Talk Consent' Course on Coursera
Tinder, a global dating app, launched a first-of-its-kind, online self learning course, 'Let's Talk Consent', focused on interpersonal consent. This course has been introduced in partnership with Yuvaa, a youth media organisation in India.
This new course will provide guidance about interpersonal consent to young adults in India.
This 90-minute multimedia course utilises surveys, assignments, and real-life examples to offer a nuanced understanding of consent in everyday situations. Five modules within the course cover:
Understanding consent in interpersonal relationships
Setting and enforcing personal boundaries
Recognising signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships via red, green and gray flags
Navigating online and offline interactions with safety and respect
Roorkee Water Conclave 2024
The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in a collaborative initiative with the National Institute of Hydrology Roorkee, held the Roorkee Water Conclave 2024. The conclave was an international conference held in Roorkee. It served as a pivotal platform for global discourse on water resources management, attracting diverse participants from researchers to policymakers.
With a focus on topics ranging from water management to emerging technologies, the conference facilitated interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange.
With the support of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Government of India, the conclave aimed to help everyone understand the ideas of a circular economy and how to make the water sector stronger.

Dharmendra Pradhan Launches Project ODISERV for Odisha's Graduates

IIM-Bodh Gaya, Medanta Sign MoU to Enhance MBA Hospital & Healthcare Management
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bodh Gaya joined forces with Medanta, a hospital chain, to make the MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) programme industry relevant.
IIM Bodh Gaya started the industry specific two year full-time MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) programme in 2023. With the new partnership, subject matter experts from Medanta will deliver lectures on relevant topics to the students which will enrich the programme content by incorporating and discussing real life cases as part of the course delivery.
Medanta will also offer summer internships to the students of IIM Bodh Gaya enrolled in the MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) programme at its hospital and healthcare facilities across India and abroad.

Odisha Government Announces Hike in Remuneration of Temporary Teachers
The Government of Odisha announced a hike in the remuneration of temporary teachers and regularisation of the services of those who passed the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET). Temporary teachers, also known as 'Gana Sikshyaks' will now get a remuneration of Rs. 10,000 per month. Earlier, they used to get Rs. 7,000 per month.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that the services of Gana Sikshyaks, who have passed the Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET), will be regularised, and they will become assistant teachers.

Dharmendra Pradhan Inaugurates I-Hub Foundation at IIM Sambalpur
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the I-Hub Foundation, an incubation centre, at IIM Sambalpur. The foundation will play a pivotal role in nurturing and supporting innovative ventures across diverse sectors, including textiles, art and culture, agriculture, healthcare, financial and digital inclusivity, tribal entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
Pradhan also launched the Sambalpur chapter of '100 Cube' start-ups to establish 100 start-ups on its premises, each with an approximate valuation of Rs. 100 crore, by Odisha's centennial celebration in 2036.

BHU Launches Two New Scholarships for Chemistry Students
The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is instituting two new scholarships for the students of Chemistry. These scholarships are slated to be awarded from the next academic session.
Madan Mohan Kayastha and his wife Santosh Kayastha made the donation to start the scholarships. Kayastha is an alumnus of BHU and had earned his MTech in Industrial Chemistry in the year 1951.
The new scholarships will encourage excellence and competitiveness among students.
