Indian Woman Hockey Player Salima Tete Appointed AHF Athletes Ambassador

National women's hockey team midfielder Salima Tete was appointed the AHF Athletes Ambassador from India for a term of two years. Tete accepted the certificate and the position during the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Congress in Mungyeong, Korea.
Tete, who led the Indian women's junior hockey team to a fourth-place finish at the 2021 FIH Women's Junior World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa, is among four players from Asia who were appointed for the position.
As the AHF Athletes Ambassador, Tete, along with the other selected athletes from Asia, will play a leadership role in international representation, development, and advocacy of athletes.

Veteran Journalist and Padma Shri Awardee Abhay Chhajlani Passes Away

Senior journalist and Padma Shri awardee Abhay Chhajlani passed away after a prolonged illness. He was 88.
Chhajlani, who was the chairman of the editorial board of Hindi daily Na iDuniya, was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009 for his outstanding contribution to journalism.
He had also served as the president of the Indian Language Newspaper Association (ILNA) and Indian Newspaper Society (INS).

Former Nagaland Minister Y. M. Yollow Passes Away

Former Nagaland minister Y. M. Yollow passed away in Delhi following a prolonged illness. He was 53.
CM Rio described Yollow as an energetic and promising leader with deep passion for politics.
The former NPF MLA from Wakching assembly constituency was given the portfolio of Forest, Environment and Climate Change in the previous government, after his party extended support to the ruling NDPP-BJP.
Due to his ill health, Yollow had not contested the state election in 2023.

Ranveer Singh India's most Valuable Celebrity of 2022

According to a report by Kroll, a corporate investigation and risk consulting firm, actor Ranveer Singh was named India's most valuable celebrity of 2022, surpassing cricketer Virat Kohli who held the top spot for five years. The report titled "Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2022: Beyond the Mainstream" revealed that Singh's brand value is $181.7 million.
The Kroll report revealed that Akshay Kumar and Alia Bhatt maintained their positions as the third and fourth most valuable celebrities in India, with brand values of $153.6 million and $102.9 million, respectively.
Deepika Padukone moved up two ranks to the fifth spot with a brand value of $82.9 million, and has since become the brand ambassador of Qatar Airways and PotteryBarn.
The report also included Amitabh Bachchan, Hritik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan in the top 10 most valuable celebrities.
Former cricketer M.S. Dhoni was ranked sixth with a brand value of over $80 million, while Sachin Tendulkar entered the top 10 for the first time, ranking eighth with a brand value of $73.6 million.

Luxor Writing Instruments Pvt Ltd, a stationery manufacturer, appointed renowned cricketer Virat Kohli as its latest brand ambassador. Kohli is widely regarded as one of the best cricketers of all time. He will represent Luxor's stationery products and help the company increase its appeal among young writers, thereby enhancing its position as a prominent writing instrument provider in the country.
Luxor, an Indian stationery brand, has teamed up with Germany's Schneider Pen to introduce a high-end range of creative writing instruments in India. This partnership between Luxor and Schneider Pen is expected to increase the appeal of the stationery brand, especially among the younger generation, and consolidate its position as a major supplier of high-performance writing tools in India.
