Siddharth Raja Appointed Executive Dean of Vinayaka Mission's Law School

Meghalaya CM Releases Rs. 130-crore Scholarship for 70,000 Students

  • Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced the release of the second and final instalment of the Umbrella Post Matric Scholarship, amounting to Rs. 130 crore, for nearly 70,000 students for the 2024-25 academic year.
  • The event took place at the district auditorium and was attended by Education Minister Lakhmen Rymbui, Commissioner and Secretary of Education Vijay Kumar Mantri, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Vibhor Aggarwal, and Director of Higher and Technical Education Hazel D. B. Sangma.

The 9th Dubai Fitness Challenge Concludes

  • The ninth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) concluded with the successful staging of Dubai Yoga 2025, a large-scale community yoga session held at Zabeel Park in the shadow of the Dubai Frame. Initiated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai , the Dubai Fitness Challenge ran from November 1 to 30, 2025 under the directive to encourage residents and visitors to engage in 30 minutes of physical activity daily for 30 consecutive days.

ICAI Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Career Advice Programme in a Single Day

  • In a historic moment for educational outreach in India, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) achieved a Guinness World Record for conducting the largest career advice session in a single day. The event, held in Mumbai in November 2025, saw participation from more than 7,400 students, teachers, and principals, with 6,166 students officially counted under Guinness World Records criteria.

Odisha Launches New Scholarship Scheme for SC, ST Students to Study Abroad

  • The Odisha government launched a new overseas scholarship programme aimed at supporting Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students who wish to pursue postgraduate and doctoral studies in top global institutions.
  • The scheme, named 'Videsh Siksha Bruti', marks one of the state's most significant initiatives to expand higher education opportunities for disadvantaged communities.
  • Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj formally inaugurated the scheme and announced that it will be implemented from the 2025 to 2026 academic year.
  • Suraj said that students belonging to SC and ST categories with an annual family income of Rs. 12 lakh or below will be eligible to apply.
  • To qualify, applicants must have secured admission to postgraduate or PhD programmes at institutions ranked within the Top 200 in the QS World University Rankings.
  • Under the new scheme, each selected student will receive financial assistance of up to Rs. 25 lakh per year. This will support tuition fees, living expenses and other academic costs during their studies abroad.
