DS Jindal Group Appoints Dayanand Shetty as Brand Ambassador

DS Jindal Group, one of India's most trusted names in infrastructure and piping solutions, announced the onboarding of acclaimed actor Dayanand Shetty--popularly known as Daya from the iconic TV show CID--as the official brand ambassador for its two leading products: Jindal PVC Pipes and Flujo GFRP Rebars.

V. S. Achuthanandan, Former Kerala CM Passes Away

Former Kerala Chief Minister and the icon of Communist movement V. S. Achuthanandan died at the age of 101.
A lifelong fighter for the rights of disadvantaged sections and a towering presence in state politics, Achuthanandan had withdrawn from public life after he suffered a minor stroke in 2019.
He had been the Leader of the Opposition from 2001 to 2006, when he had spearheaded the attack on the UDF government led by AK Antony. In 2006, he led the CPM-led Left Democratic Front to victory and served as Chief Minister till 2011.

Veteran Tamil Actor-Filmmaker Velu Prabhakaran Passes Away

Veteran Tamil director, cinematographer and actor Velu Prabhakaran passed away in Chennai. He was 68.
Velu Prabhakaran made his Tamil cinema debut as a cinematographer with the 1980 film Ivargal Vithyasamanavargal. In 1989, he transitioned to direction with his debut film Nalaya Manithan, starring Prabhu, Ajay Rathnam, Amala, and Jaishankar. That same year, he also stepped in front of the camera for the first time, acting in his own directorial venture Sariyana Jodi.
