Justice Tashi Rabstan Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of J&K High Court
Justice Tashi Rabstan, senior-most judge, was appointed acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh with immediate effect, following the retirement of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey.
Justice Tashi Rabstan enrolled as an Advocate on 6th March 1990 in Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir and started practicing in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & various other High Courts on Arbitrations, Constitution, Service, Election, Civil and Criminal matters.
While Supreme Court judges retire on attaining the age of 65 years, high court judges retire at 62.

CJI Launches Updated Version of Supreme Court Mobile App
Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud launched an updated version of Supreme Court mobile app for Android users.
He said that the Supreme Court mobile app 2.0 is now ready for Android users and requested users to start using it.
This time, an additional feature has been given, all law officers can have their own access. All government departments can check the pendency of their cases.
The new feature allows lawyers, as well as government department to track the development in their cases.

The Supreme Court refused to entertain petition which requests to direct ASI for determining the correct age of Taj Mahal and for removal of the incorrect facts from history books regarding the monument.
A bench comprising Justice M.R. Shah and Justice C.T. Ravikumar asked as to what type of PIL it is? The bench questioned how will the court decide what historical facts are right or wrong.
The petitioner then withdrew the petition. The petition was accordingly withdrawn with liberty to file a representation before the ASI.

Been a Witness and Victim of Adjournment Culture in Patna High Court: Justice M.R. Shah
Justice M.R. Shah, a senior judge of the Supreme Court, has said that the Patna High Court has a very bad culture of adjourning cases, adding that he has been both a victim and a witness of it.
Justice Shah, prior to his elevation as the judge of the Supreme Court, had served as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
It was during that time as the CJ of Patna High Court that he had experienced the adjournment culture first hand.
Justice Shah said that the culture of adjournment was very much prevalent in Patna.
Talking about the Patna High Court, the judge said that when the lawyers keep asking for adjournment, what will the poor Judges do.
The top court has time and again taken a poor view of unnecessary adjournments.
The Bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli have recently spoken on how the practice of adjournments is being sought by lawyers who come to court without preparing to argue the case.
