World's Largest Literary Festival-'Sahityotsav' to be Held in March

World's largest literary festival 'Sahityotsav' by Sahitya Akademi will be held from the 11^th to 16^th of March. The festival commemorating 70 years of Sahitya Akademi will witness the participation of more than a hundred renowned writers and scholars. Sahitya Akademi, Secretary, Dr. K. Sreenivasrao said that over 190 sessions and more than 175 languages of the country will also be represented during the festival.
The highlight of the festival will be the presentation ceremony of the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2023, which will be held on the 12^th of March in New Delhi's Kamani Auditorium. The Chief Guest of the Awards Presentation Ceremony will be Pratibha Rai, the distinguished Odia writer. The Samvatsar lecture will be delivered by renowned Urdu writer and lyricist Gulzar on the 13^th of March at the Meghdoot open theatre.

A 21-feet Statue of Maharana Pratap Unveiled in Hyderabad

The unveiling of a 21-feet statue of Maharana Pratap at the Begum Bazar Maharana Pratap Chowk marked a significant moment for Hyderabad. This statue, the largest of its kind in the city, serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of the revered Rajput warrior, encapsulating his spirit for generations to come.
Crafted with meticulous detail and weighing a remarkable two tonnes, the majestic statue was brought to life by the skilled hands of artist Sunder Singh over a span of three months.

Sri Lanka Hosts Geeta Mahotsav's 5th Edition

The International Gita Mahotsav (IGM), a celebration deeply rooted in the spiritual and cultural heritage of India, found its foreign soil in Sri Lanka. Scheduled from March 1 to 3, the fifth edition of the IGM promises to be a grand affair, bringing together devotees and enthusiasts from around the world.
Sri Lanka's Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Minister Vidura Wickramanayaka graced the previous edition of the Mahotsav at the Brahma Sarovar alongside BJP national president J. P. Nadda.
The decision to host the IGM in Sri Lanka marked a significant milestone in the event's journey.
Having previously been held in Mauritius, London, Canada, and Australia, the Mahotsav's expansion into Sri Lanka reflects its growing global appeal.

Chief Minister Manik Saha Inaugurates 2nd State Level Shehri Samridhi Utsav

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the 2nd State Level Shehri Samridhi Utsav organised by Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission at Children's Park, Agartala. The event aimed at fostering urban livelihood opportunities and empowering women in the region.
In his address during the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Manik Saha reiterated the government's commitment to empowering women.
He highlighted the efforts of the Prime Minister in placing women at the forefront of national development. The state government is aligned with this vision and has implemented various schemes to foster women's self-reliance.

World's First Vedic Clock in Ujjain

The world's first Vedic clock, designed to showcase time according to the ancient Indian traditional Panchang, was installed in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district.
Scheduled for virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 1, the Vedic clock stands tall on an 85-foot tower within Ujjain's Jantar Mantar, adjacent to the Government Jiwaji Observatory.
This unique clock exhibits information related to Vedic Hindu Panchang, planetary positions, Muhurat, astrological calculations, and predictions, and also indicate Indian Standard Time (IST) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Time calculation is based on the duration from one sunrise to the next.
