The award will be conferred by the hands of President of the Trust Deepak Tilak on August 1, the death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak.
PM Modi was selected for the award for the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat which has helped the country climb the ladder of progress, and for awakening the feeling of patriotism among the citizens, and putting India on the global map.

NLC India Ltd Bags GeM Award in "Timely Payments (CPSEs)" Category
NLC India Limited bagged GeM award in the category 'Timely Payments (CPSEs)' for the year 2023. NLCIL, which is a navratna company under the Ministry of Coal, got this award for its outstanding contribution in improving the reliability of e-market practices in line with the vision of GeM. K. Mohan Reddy, Director (Planning and Projects) received the award on behalf of NLC India Limited. CMD, NLCIL Prasanna Kumar Mottupalli, complimented the officials of NLCIL for their efforts and wished them more success in future.
NLCIL registered and on-boarded GeM portal in the year 2017. Its growth in GeM procurement started from a small value of Rs. 2.21 crore during the year 2018-19. After that the company registered an impressive growth of Rs. 984.93 crore during the year FY 2022-23.

Britian Gives Environmental Award to Indian Conservationists
King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom presented the prestigious Elephant Family environmental award to Indian conservationists. The award ceremony recognized filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves, the creative mind behind the Oscar-winning documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers', and the Real Elephant Collective (TREC), a group of 70 Adivasi artists. Both Gonsalves and TREC were acknowledged for their exceptional storytelling, advocacy for coexistence, and dedication to preserving India's natural world.
Kartiki Gonsalves, the debut director of the acclaimed documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers,' received the Tara Award from King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The Tara Award, inspired by the sacred bond between elephants and humans, acknowledges outstanding accomplishments in storytelling and advocacy for coexistence.
Meanwhile, the Real Elephant CollectiveTREC was awarded the Mark Shand Award, named in honour of the late founder of Elephant Family – an international NGO dedicated to protecting the Asian elephant from extinction in the wild.

Vartika Shukla Conferred Business Leader of the Year Award
Vartika Shukla, C&MD, EIL was conferred with the Business Leader of the Year Award at the Downwards Downstream India Awards at the Global Refining and Petrochemicals Congress 2023 in New Delhi. This award is conferred in recognition of the C&MD's extensive contributions in the evolution and development of the hydrocarbons sector.
Shukla having started her career as a Management Trainee at EIL in1988 rose through the ranks to become C&MD in September 2021. During her illustrious career spanning over 3.5 decades, she has made immense contributions to the development of National Policies especially in the area of Auto Fuel vision & policy, National Bio Fuel Policy and future road map for the refining and petrochemical sector. Under her leadership, EIL has also advanced in the application of data driven analytical approach for improving the overall quality of the deliverables across the company.

Boxing champion Mary Kom named Global Indian Icon at U.K.-India Awards
Sporting legend and India's first-ever Olympic medallist in women's boxing, Mary Kom, was honoured with the Global Indian Icon of the Year award at the annual UK-India Awards in Windsor, south-eastern England. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, directing Oscar-nominated 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the field of cinema across both nations at the awards, organised by India Global Forum (IGF) as part of UK-India Week. The Nehru Centre in London, the cultural wing of the Indian High Commission, won the UK-India Award for Significant Contribution to UK-India Relations.
The awards were selected from a shortlist by a jury of industry experts and marked the penultimate event of the six-day UK-India Week, which included a special reception hosted by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at 10 Downing Street during which he committed to working towards a truly ambitious free trade agreement (FTA) with India.
The awards, now in their fifth year, recognise outstanding contributions of leaders in business, professional services, government, culture and social impact, highlighting their remarkable achievements in strengthening bilateral ties.
