Rajnath Singh Leaves for Mongolia Visit and Japan 2+2 Dialogue

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is leaving for an important five-day visit to Mongolia and Japan.
The visit holds significance as it is expected to give a push to a strategic partnership with East Asian countries, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will pay an official visit to Mongolia starting while his tour of Japan will be from September 8 to 9.
The visit by the Defence Minister is the first ever visit by an Indian Defence Minister to Mongolia and would further consolidate the defence cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will join their Japanese counterparts under the framework of '2+2' foreign and defence ministerial dialogue which is scheduled for September 8.
In the 2+2 dialogue, the two sides are expected to deliberate on ways to further expand bilateral cooperation in the areas of defence and security besides deliberation on the Indo-Pacific, as per the sources. The Japanese delegation will be headed at the talks by Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and Defence Minister Yasukazu Hamada.

Union Minister Hardeep Puri Leads Delegation in Italy for Gastech Milan-2022

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will lead an official and business delegation to Italy to attend the Gastech Milan-2022.
The Union Minister will lead the delegation to Milan from September 5-7.
During the visit, the Minister will participate in the select Ministerial Panel of the Opening Ceremony along with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt and the State Secretary of Energy of Portugal. He will also take part in Ministerial Panel discussions titled "Energy Security and Transition" and "A just energy transition for developing nations".
The visit will be an opportunity to highlight India's economic growth story and the investment opportunities that exist in India across the entire energy value chain.

Amit Shah Chairs the 30th Southern Zonal Council Meeting in Thiruvananthapuram

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 30th Southern Zonal Council meeting in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
In the 30th meeting of the Southern Zonal Council held in Thiruvananthapuram, 26 issues were discussed, 9 issues were resolved, 17 issues were reserved for further consideration, out of which 9 issues were related to the reorganization of Andhra Pradesh.
He also urged the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to settle their pending issues, which will not only benefit the people of their states but will also lead to all-round development of the entire southern region.
The main objectives of the Zonal Council meeting are – amicable settlement of disputes between the Centre and the States and inter-state through mutual agreement, promotion of regional cooperation between states, providing a forum for all states to brainstorm on issues of common national importance and setting up a collaboration system for strengthening cooperation among all stakeholders.

Mansukh Mandaviya Virtually Inaugurates 'Swasth Sabal Bharat' Conclave

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare virtually inaugurated the 'Swasth Sabal Bharat' Conclave in the presence of Ganga Prasad, Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim. The purpose of the conclave was to discuss the present situation of body-organ-eye donation in India and find solutions to the challenges ahead in future.
The Union Minister emphasized on "Jan Bhagidari" or people's movement to encourage people to come forward to donate their organs for humanity. It is not possible for the government or NGOs alone to convince people for organ donation. It has to be people's movement for the campaign to be successful.

UP: Bhartaul Becomes First Village in State to Have RO Water in Every Household

As part of the Adarsh Gram Panchayat initiative, Bhartaul village in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh became the first village in the state to have RO water in every household.
As many as four RO plants were brought up in the village with an aim to make clean drinking water available to all.
The authorities plan to set up more ROs in the near future.
The village has a population of around 7,000 with 40 per cent of it being in the Indian Army. The village has a total of 850 houses of which 350 are owned by Armymen who are deployed in different parts of the country but their families stay in Bhartaul.

Five JD(U) MLAs Merge with Ruling BJP in Manipur

Manipur Assembly Secretary K. Meghajit Singh said that Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh accepted the merger under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution of India.
The five JD(U) legislators who joined the BJP are Khumukcham Joykisan Singh, representing the Thangmeiband constituency, Ngursanglur Sanate (Tipaimukh), Mohammed Achab Uddin (Jiribam), Thangjam Arunkumar (Wangkhei) and L.M. Khaute (Churachandpur).
The JD(U) had won six seats in the 60-member Manipur Assembly earlier this year and extended their support to the BJP government headed by Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh.

In an Election Year, West Bengal Topped in Fake News Cases on Social Media

West Bengal recorded the highest number of recorded cases against fake news on social media in 2021, accounting for about one-fourth of the total such cases across the country, according to NCRB data.
West Bengal reported 43 cases of fake news on social media with Kolkata alone recording 28 of these cases, according to data published by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
Bengal witnessed a high decibel electoral battle in 2021 between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the opposition BJP with the two sides leaving no stones unturned in reaching out to the people.

Vasudha Gupta Assumes Charge as DG, AIR News

Senior Indian Information Service officer Vasudha Gupta assumed charge as the director general of the News Services division of the All India Radio (AIR).
A 1989-batch IIS officer, Gupta has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting during her career spanning more than 32 years.
Before her appointment as the director general of the News Services division of the AIR, she served as the DG, Press Information Bureau (PIB).

Shivpal Yadav Announces Formation of New Outfit for Yadav Community

Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia founder Shivpal Yadav announced the formation of a new organisation for the Yadav community, and said that it will fight for the cause of social justice.
The organisation -- Yadukul Renaissance Mission -- is not for or against any political party.
While Shivpal is the patron of the organisation, former MP from Sambhal DP Yadav is its president while writer Vishwatma is founder member of the Mission.

Govt. Approves Signing of MoU with Nepal on Biodiversity Conservation

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved an environment ministry proposal for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Nepal on biodiversity conservation.
The MoU would help in promoting cooperation between India and Nepal in the field of forests, wildlife, environment, biodiversity conservation and climate change, including restoration of corridors and interlinking areas, and sharing knowledge and best practices.
The region along the Indo-Nepal border hosts some of the best wildlife habitats remaining in the Indian subcontinent.

Inter-ministerial MoU Inked for Promotion of 'One Herb, One Standard'

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (Ministry of Ayush) and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (Ministry of Health) for inter-ministerial cooperation for the promotion and facilitation of "One Herb, One Standard".
The primary objective of this MoU is the development of cooperative efforts between the PCIM&H and the IPC to promote public health by facilitating the development of harmonised herbal drug standards. Since both the PCIM&H and the IPC are working with the common cause, it is logical and meaningful to harmonise the standards to achieve 'One Herb, One Standard'."

Indian Railway Installed 'Meghdoot' Machines at Mumbai Stations

Indian Railways have set up 'Meghdoot' machines at Dadar, Thane and other stations of the Mumbai Division. The unique 'Meghdoot' machines use innovative technology to convert water vapour in the air into potable water. The contract for setting up 17 'MEGHDOOT', Atmospheric Water Generator Kiosks' over Mumbai Division of Central Railway under NINFRIS policy for a period of 5 years has been awarded to Maithri Aquatech Pvt Ltd.

Nagesh Singh is India's Ambassador to Thailand

Nagesh Singh was appointed as India's next ambassador to Thailand.
Singh will be replacing ambassador Suchitra Durai and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Nagesh Singh is a 1995 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) who has served as Consul General of India in Atlanta.
He holds a master's degree from the Delhi School of Economics.

Rajasthan Registers Highest Number of Rape Cases in 2021: NCRB Report

According to data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Rajasthan recorded the highest number of rape cases in the country in 2021.
As per the numbers, the crime rate in the country increased by more than 19 per cent compared to the previous year (2020). While it ranks second after Uttar Pradesh in overall crime against women, it continues to be ahead in rape cases.
