Delhi Breaks into League of Top Ten Busiest Airports for the First Time
Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport broke into the club of the world's 10 busiest airports in terms of the number of passengers handled, as per Airports Council International (ACI). The global trade association of airports ranked the Delhi Airport at the ninth spot for 2022, just ahead of Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The airport was ranked as the 13th busiest for 2021 and 17th busiest for 2019. The Delhi airport is India's largest and is the only airport from South and Southeast Asia to feature in ACI's list of the 10 busiest airports.

Sudesh Poddar New President of FHRAI
Sudesh Kumar Poddar was elected as the President of India's oldest hotel industry association, Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI). Poddar was declared elected as President at the EC meeting, under the supervision of a court appointed observer in Delhi.
Poddar served FHRAI as its honouree Treasurer previously. A hotelier since 1977, Poddar owns a 4-star hotel in Assam and multiple restaurants in Kolkata which includes the iconic 70-year-old Chinese restaurant, Songhai.
The election of Poddar as President also brought to an end to a five-year long leadership stalemate in the apex hospitality federation.

CAPA India Aviation Summit
Indian aviation industry leaders gathered in Delhi for the CAPA India Aviation Summit 2023. This is the first time after 2019 that CAPA organised this summit. The event drew top executives from Air India, Spice Jet, Vistara, and Akasa Air.

Omnichannel travel services firm Thomas Cook India and its group company SOTC Travel partnered with LTIMindtree and launched 'Green Carpet', a global platform that will help companies to monitor and manage their business travel emissions.
A SaaS-based platform, "Green Carpet" is designed to address specific concerns faced by organisations, helping them capture, monitor, analyse and reduce their carbon emissions from business travel.
It offers real-time insights related to Scope 3 emissions and helps organisations to significantly reduce their ESG reporting costs.

Meghalaya Gets Electric Train for the First Time
Meghalaya got the electric train for the first time after the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) commissioned the 22.82 km track of Dudhnai-Mendipathar railway line.
The Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE) carried out the electrification works in these sections
Mendipathar is the only railway station in Meghalaya which is in operation since 2014. After commissioning of electric traction, trains hauled by electric locomotive will now be able to operate directly from Mendipathar in Meghalaya.
