Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched 'Make India No. 1' mission

  •  Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has formally unveiled his Aam Aadmi Party's national ambition with the launch of the 'Make India No 1' campaign.
  • At an event organised at Talkatora stadium here, he proposed a five-point vision for good governance.
  • The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor termed the campaign a "national mission" and appealed to the masses to join.

Govt launches 2nd phase of Grameen Udyami Project to promote skill development and entrepreneursh...

  • National Skill Development Corporation, NSDC in partnership with Seva Bharti and Yuva Vikas Society on Saturday launched the second phase of Grameen Udyami Project to augment skill training in tribal communities for their inclusive and sustainable growth. Under the initiative, the endeavour is to multiskill India's youth and impart functional skills to them for enabling livelihoods.

UDAN Scheme Completes 5 Years

  • Regional Connectivity Scheme of Ministry of Civil Aviation, UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) successfully completed 5 years. This scheme was initiated in 2016. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched first flight under UDAN on April 27, 2017. The scheme aims to connect small and medium cities with big cities through air service. In the five years, scheme benefited more than 1 crore passengers till August 2022.
  • This scheme has provided air connectivity to over 29 States/UTs by initiating 425 new routes.

Sikkim CM Launches Schemes for Women's Welfare

  • Sikkim Chief Minister P. S. Tamang launched 'Aama Yojana' and 'Vatsalya Yojana' and said that the Sikkim government is working continuously for the welfare of women.
  • Under Aama Yojana all unemployed mothers in the state would recieve Rs. 20,000 annually which would be deposited in their bank accounts. Under the Vatsalya Yojana an aid of Rs. 3 lakh would be provided to childless women for in vitro fertilization treatment.
  • Expressing concern over the declining fertility in Sikkim, Tamang said that Vatsalya Yojana will cover women in government jobs through the health department and others through Chief Minister's Medical Assistance.

New Changes in the Atal Pension Yojana(APY)

  • The Central government brought a few changes to the Atal Pension Yojana, which was started with the aim of providing pension facilities to those working in the unorganised sector in 2015. And as a result, the Ministry of Finance decided not to allow income taxpayers to apply for the APY scheme. The new order issued by Finance Ministry would come into effect from October 1, 2022. According to the gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, any citizen who is or has been an income tax payer according to the Income Tax Act would not be eligible to join the Atal Pension Yojana.
