Minister Bhupender Yadav launches new features in eShram Portal to facilitate ease of registratio...

Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav launched new features in eShram Portal in the presence of Arti Ahuja, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment and other senior officers of the ministry.
The new features added in eShram portal will enhance its utility and facilitate ease of registration for unorganised workers. The eShram-registered workers can now connect with employment opportunities, skilling, apprenticeship, pension scheme, digital skilling and states' schemes through the portal.
As on March 16, 2023, as many as 28.64 crore unorganised workers registered on eShram portal
The minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli on March 16 in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha informed that as on March 10, 2023, a total of 28.64 crore unorganised workers have been registered on eShram portal.

Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, UNCDF Team up to Make India Global Agri-tech Leader

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) jointly launched a whitepaper aimed at making India a global leader in agri-tech innovation and expanding these innovations to the least developed countries in Asia and Africa.
The whitepaper outlines the significant observations and recommendations required to tackle challenges in the agriculture sector and promote sustainable practices that support smallholder farmers across developing economies. According to the statement, agri-tech innovations will help address food security, supply chain inefficiencies, and climate change concerns.

Karnataka Tops in Fasal Bima, over Rs. 687 crore Claims Settled

Karnataka was declared topper in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) scheme, during a national conference in Chhattisgarh. The award was handed over to the state government. Agriculture department officials said that Rs. 687.4 crore of 5.66 lakh farmers were settled, pending since 2018.

Centre to Introduce Cinematograph Bill

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the Centre will introduce the Cinematograph Bill 2023 during the Monsoon session of Parliament. The minister said the bill is aimed at curbing film piracy.
In 2019, the Union Cabinet had gaven its approval to a proposal by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to make amendments to the Cinematograph Act, 1952, and introduce the Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
The bill was brought to impose strict penalties for film piracy and curb the release of pirated versions which causes huge losses to the movie industry and the exchequer.
The government proposed to make film piracy a punishable offence that could attract imprisonment of up to three years and a fine of up to Rs. 10 lakh, or both

Union Minister Arjun Munda Launches Scheme to Promote Tribal Products from Northeast

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda launched a scheme to promote tribal products from the north-eastern region of the country.
The scheme, 'Marketing and Logistics Development for Promotion of Tribal Products from North-Eastern Region (PTP-NER)', aims to enhance livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans in the region.
The PTP-NER scheme will focus on increasing efficiency in procurement, logistics and marketing of tribal products from the northeastern states of India.
It aims to provide backward and forward linkages through incubation support, aggregation, skill and entrepreneurship development, sourcing and procurement, marketing, transportation and publicity to tribal artisans in the region.
As part of the scheme, 68 Tribal Artisan Melas (TAMs) will be organised from April to May in the northeast to empanel tribal artisans from the region.
These TAMs will provide tribal artisans a platform to showcase their products and enhance their income.
