Michelle Poonawalla Receives the Coveted Shiromani Award
Michelle Poonawalla, well known artist, businesswoman and philanthropist, from the renowned Poonawalla family received the coveted Shiromani Award from the hands of Mr. G. P. Hinduja, the co-chairman of Hinduja Group at NRI World Summit 2022, United Kingdom for her contribution to the field of Art, she was also a speaker at the prestigious House of Lords, UK. Poonawalla also unveiled her artwork at JMS Foundation Charity Gala Dinner at The Dorchester in London. The NRI Institute celebrated their 33rd anniversary with a two-day gala celebration of achievements, charity, investment opportunities, innovation and business networking. The Poonawalla's were represented by Yohan and Michelle Poonawalla.
Ukrainian Mathematician Maryna Viazovska Wins Prestigious Fields Medal 2022
Ukrainian maths professor, Maryna Viazovska, won the top mathematics prize, the Fields Medal 2022. Viazovska and three other mathematicians received the Fields Medal, dubbed the Nobel Prize in maths, in Helsinki after the ceremony was moved from Saint Petersburg to the Finnish capital in response to Moscow's war.
Maryna is only the second woman to receive the award, which is awarded to mathematicians under 40, since it was created in 1936. The other female laureate, Iran's Maryam Mirzakhani, died of breast cancer in 2017 just three years after winning the prize.
The other three awardees of the prestigious prize are: France's Hugo Duminil-Copin, US-based June Huh and Britain's James Maynard.
Fields Medal is the highest honour for a mathematician. The medal is awarded every four years on the occasion of the International Congress of Mathematicians. The Fields Medal is awarded to recognize outstanding mathematical achievement for existing work and for the promise of future achievement. The Fields medal award comprises a gold medal (14 karat gold) bearing the profile of Archimedes and a cash amount.

HCL Technologies was recognised at Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards 2022, for innovation and implementing customer solutions based on Microsoft technology. HCL Tech bagged Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for Healthcare and Life Sciences (global winner) and the 2022 UK Microsoft Partner of the Year Award (country winner). The IT company was also named a finalist in the 2022 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for Internet of Things (domain finalist).
The Awards recognise Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based applications, services, and devices during the past year. More than 3,900 nominations were filed from 100+ countries worldwide, for the annual Awards. Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards is announced annually before the company's global partner conference, Microsoft Inspire.

UK Parliament Honours Tanuja Nesari with Ayurveda Ratna Award
Tanuja Nesari, Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) was awarded with the Ayurveda Ratna Award by the UK Parliament, recognising her contribution to furthering the growth of Ayurveda in India and abroad.
The UK's All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences (ITSappg) conferred the Ayurveda Ratna award on Dr. Nesari for her exceptional service of the highest order for the promotion of Ayurveda by an ITSappg committee represented by dignitaries including Amarjeet S Bhamra, Ambassador for Ayurveda and Yoga in Great Britain, Virendra Sharma, MP, UK Parliament and Chair, ITSappg and Bob Blackman, MP, UK Parliament and Chair, ITSappg.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences was formed in 2014 with an aim to spread the knowledge of Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Vastu, Unani and Sangeetam in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Ashok Soota Conferred with CII Quality Ratna Award 2021
Ashok Soota, founder and Executive Chairman of Happiest Minds Technologies, was conferred with CII Quality Ratna Award 2021. The Annual CII Quality Ratna Award constituted in the year 2019 is in recognition of outstanding leadership, contribution, and distinguished service to the Quality Movement in India. The CII Awards Committee unanimously concurred to bestow the 2021 Award to Mr. Soota considering his significant contribution to building the competitiveness of the Indian industry through quality Initiatives.

Two Indo-Canadian academics Honoured with Order of Canada
Two Indo-Canadian academics, working on research to advance the betterment of mankind, were honoured with one of the country's most prestigious awards, the Order of Canada.
Their names were in the list published by the office of the governor-general of Canada Mary Simon. Both were invested into the Order as a Member.
They are professors Ajay Agrawal and Parminder Raina.
The Order of Canada was created in 1967 by Queen Elizabeth II, Canada's Head of State, to honour people "whose service shapes our society, whose innovations ignite our imaginations, and whose compassion unites our communities".
Agrawal was selected for his visionary leadership as an educator and entrepreneur, and for his mentorship of students and aspiring business owners.
Raina was selected for his leading research in ageing and population health in Canada and for his impact on national policymaking in geriatric care services.

Indian Start-up IG Drones Wins Global Airwards Best Drone Organisation Award
The Delhi-based leading Drone enterprise platform company IG Drones was felicitated with the "Best Drone Organization – Start-up Category" by Airwards. IG Drones was selected for the award for its approach of helping local communities and giving access to technology to various stakeholders during natural disasters and calamities.

Poet Ram Darash Mishra Gets Saraswati Samman for 'Mein to Yahan Hun'
Eminent Hindi poet and litterateur Prof Ram Darash Mishra was conferred the Saraswati Samman for 2021 for his collection of poems "Mein to Yahan Hun", which covers a gamut of social issues and societal concerns.
Instituted in 1991 by KK Birla Foundation, the Saraswati Samman is one of the most prestigious literary awards in the country. It is given annually to an outstanding literary work published during the past 10 years by an Indian citizen in any language included in Schedule VIII of the Constitution. It carries a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakh, a citation, and a plaque.
Born in Dumri village in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district on August 15, 1924, Mishra excelled in different branches of Hindi literature. In a career spanning decades, he has to his credit 32 collections of poems, 15 novels, 30 short stories, 15 books of literary criticism, four collections of essays, travelogues, and several memoirs.
