  • Designed to harness the immense talent at KGP and transform bold ideas into market-ready ventures, the accelerator will offer participants access to mentorship, funding, and top-tier resources. With a focus on building technical and scalable solutions to tackle global challenges, this programme aims to blend IIT Kharagpur's research with z21 Ventures' proven investment expertise, empowering student entrepreneurs to create world-changing impact.

UCL Partners with AIIMS New Delhi, IIT Delhi to Scale up Med Tech Innovation

  • The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, and University College London (UCL) collaborated to advance the field of medical technology. The partnership, formalised, aims to drive innovations in detection, diagnostics, imaging, medical devices, assistive technologies, digital health, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and more.
  • The tripartite collaboration will leverage the strengths of all three institutions, combining expertise in medical science, engineering, and policy. It will foster joint research programs, staff and student exchanges, collaborative degrees, and workshops, to develop cutting-edge technologies that address some of the world's most urgent health issues.

IISc Introduces STRONG for Nanopore Research

  • Researchers from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) introduced a groundbreaking language called STRONG (STring Representation of Nanopore Geometry), which encodes the shape and structure of nanopores. This new tool is set to revolutionise nanopore research by enabling machine learning (ML) models to predict their properties accurately.
  • STRONG assigns distinct letters to various atomic configurations found at the edge of nanopores. This representation provides a detailed way to understand and describe nanopore geometries, enabling better prediction of their properties, such as energy levels and gas transport barriers. 

CBSE, ICAI Collaborate to Enhance Financial Literacy Education for Students

  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) signed an agreement in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This partnership through its Committee on Career Counselling aims to promote commerce-based skill courses, specifically focusing on the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector, to enhance the employability and career prospects of students.
  • The collaboration will see ICAI providing its expertise in areas including course content, syllabus development, study materials, and training modules. Moreover, ICAI will actively engage in career guidance, enrichment activities, and participate in workshops and training sessions organised by CBSE.
  • The focus will be on sensitising both educators and students to the numerous career opportunities in accountancy and related fields, aligning education with the requirements of the ever-evolving job market.

Samsung, IIT Bombay Collaborate for Research in Digital Health, AI

  • Samsung R&D Institute, Noida (SRI-Noida), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). As a part of this collaboration, SRI-Noida and IIT Bombay will explore breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI), digital health, and other critical areas.
  • The five-year partnership will facilitate joint research projects, providing IIT Bombay students and faculty an opportunity to collaborate with Samsung engineers.
  • Through this partnership, Samsung and IIT Bombay are setting the foundation for a sustained exchange of expertise that will push the boundaries of next-generation technologies and inspire future breakthroughs.

University of Melbourne Appoints Muthupandian Ashokkumar as Director of their Global Centre in Delhi

  • The University of Melbourne announced the appointment of Professor Muthupandian Ashokkumar as Director of the Melbourne Global Centre in Delhi. Professor Ashokkumar was earlier the assistant deputy vice-chancellor of international (India), head of the school of Chemistry, acting director and CEO of the Australia India Institute, and associate dean of international at the university's faculty of science.
  • He has experience in international education and organisational leadership. In his new role, he will lead the University's strategic initiatives, outreach, and collaborations within India, fostering partnerships with governmental bodies, industry leaders, and other sector-specific entities to reinforce the commitment to the India-Australia bilateral relationship, as per a statement by the University of Melbourne.

Best Universities for Graduate Jobs: IIT-Delhi Tops India List

  • The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is among the top 250 universities in the world for graduate employability, according to the Global University Employability Ranking 2025, compiled by HR consultancy Emerging and published exclusively by Times Higher Education.
  • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), United States led the list securing the top spot in producing employable graduates followed by California Institute of Technology and Stanford University in the second and third spots.

IIT Madras and AP Govt. Collaborate to Enable Deep-tech Innovation, Scale Up Digital Skilling

  • The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and the government of Andhra Pradesh signed a string of agreements to drive innovation and raise digital skilling in the state. The eight MoUs that were signed cover areas like deep-tech innovation, digital education, maritime research, and governance systems.
  • IIT Madras also committed to introducing digital skilling programmes across the state through its platforms like SWAYAM Plus and Vidhya Shakti. These initiatives aim to up-skill students and teachers while bridging gaps in the existing digital workforce.

IIT Roorkee, Kyoto University Launch Joint Lab on Healthy Aging in Japan

  • The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and Kyoto University (KU) inaugurated a joint research lab, named the Initiative for Intelligent ChemBioInformatics (IN-CBI), at Kyoto University in Japan. This state-of-the-art lab aims to advance research on healthy aging, beginning with a focus on eye vision, in collaboration with Narayan Nethralaya.
  • The initiative integrates expertise in biology, chemistry, artificial intelligence (AI), water science, and dietary habits to develop transformative solutions for global challenges.
  • The KU-IITR partnership is designed to harness cutting-edge technologies and multidisciplinary approaches to tackle health, biological, and environmental issues linked to aging. The collaboration emphasises IIT Roorkee's commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research aligned with global sustainable development goals.
