Jeypore Airport in Odisha Gets DGCA Nod

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granted Jeypore Airport the licence to carry out commercial flight operations under the regional connectivity scheme. The airport, 33 km northwest of Koraput town and 500 km southwest of Bhubaneswar, would boost tourism.
Jeypore Airport is located three kilometres north-west of the city of Jeypore in Odisha, India. The airstrip was constructed in 1962 along with the establishment of a Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) factory nearby at Sunabeda.

CASHe, IRCTC Partner to Launch 'Travel Now Pay Later' Facility

India's AI-driven financial wellness platform CASHe partnered with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide a Travel Now Pay Later (TNPL) payment option on its travel app IRCTC Rail Connect. According to CASHe, the new scheme will help customers to book their rail tickets instantly and pay for it later in pocket-friendly EMIs, ranging from three to six months.
V. Raman Kumar, Founder Chairman, CASHe, said that the scheme will be a big venture in its sector. "The CASHe, IRCTC partnership will help CASHe to reach out to the millions and provide them with a convenient option to travel now and pay for their fare later in easy EMIs."
He added that the Travel Now and Pay Later option is a popular choice among travellers and tourists and has seen remarkable growth in recent times. "With CASHe's Travel Now Pay Later scheme, we will significantly enhance the payment facility and flexibility for the customers."

Jammu and Kashmir's Tourism Flourishes, Receives Highest Footfall since Independence

Jammu and Kashmir witnessed the highest footfall of tourists since the British rule ended in India, Trade and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal informed. The update came as a boost to the Narendra Modi led Central Government's decision to scrap the special rights of the state in 2019.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government touted the numbers as a sign of significant economic development in the valley.
Goyal said that 16.2 million tourists had visited since January, the highest number in 75 years, adding that the government's transformative initiatives and reforms to uplift Jammu and Kashmir have given a major thrust to tourism.
Known for its snow-topped Himalayan mountains, fast-flowing rivers, Mughal-era gardens, Alpine meadows and houseboats around a beautiful lake, the federal territory has seen a resurgence in domestic tourism since most COVID-19 restrictions ended this year.

Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra Topped Destinations for Foreign Tourists 2021

As per a report by Union Tourism Ministry, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu had the highest numbers of foreign tourist visitors, with 1.26 million and 1.23 million, respectively in 2021. The report titled 'India Tourism Statistics 2022' was released by Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
As per the report, due to restrictions related to COVID-19, "the number of foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) in India during 2021 decreased to 1.52 million as compared to 2.74 million in 2020, registering a negative growth of 44.5 per cent".

Qutub Minar Most Visited Tourist Destination for Foreigners in April-June

The Qutub Minar was the most visited destination for foreign visitors between April and June.
The historic Red Fort was the second most visited destination for foreign visitors followed by Humayun's Tomb during the same period.
Qutub Minar, a UNSECO-recognised world heritage site in Delhi, received 3,81,249 Indian visitors and 9,063 foreign tourists between April and June, according to data shared by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Delhi Circle.
The Mughal-era Red Fort was visited by 5,696 foreign tourists during the three-month period. It received the highest number of domestic visitors at 8,13,434, more than twice the number at Qutub Minar.
Humayun's Tomb received 5,139 foreign tourists.
