The BJP-led government in Karnataka launched the 'Kashi Yatra' project which offers around 30,000 pilgrims cash assistance of Rs. 5,000 each to take up a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
For this scheme, the government will be using funds of up to Rs. 7 crore from the accounts head of 'Assistance to Manasa Sarovara Pilgrims' which was announced in the chief minister's budget speech for the financial year.

Punjab Assembly Passes Resolution against Agnipath Scheme
The Punjab Assembly passed a resolution against the Agnipath recruitment scheme, a move opposed by the opposition BJP. Punjab became the first state in the country to pass a resolution against the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
While moving the resolution in the Assembly, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the unilateral announcement of the Agnipath scheme by the government of India has witnessed widespread reactions in all states, including Punjab.
As per Mann, this policy (Agnipath) is likely to create dissatisfaction among the youth who wish to serve the armed forces of the nation for a lifetime.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance' scheme at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital.
The scheme has outlay of around Rs. 6,000 crore.
The scheme aims to scale up the implementation capacity and coverage of Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) in the states, with impact enhancement of existing MSME schemes.

Kerala Govt. to Roll out "MEDISEP" Scheme for State Government
Kerala state government issued orders regarding the implementation of a medical insurance "MEDISEP" scheme for government employees and pensioners and the deduction of premium from the salary of June 2022 and pension of July 2022. MEDISEP scheme is applicable to government employees, pensioners/family pensioners and their eligible family members and employees and pensioners of universities that receive grant in aid from the state government and the local self-government institutions.
The scheme provides cashless medical assistance through an insurance company selected through the competitive bidding process. As per the scheme, the premium on behalf of the employees and pensioners towards MEDISEP shall be paid by the government in advance and will be recouped from the salary of employees and pensioners.
The annual premium of the employees and the pensioners will be Rs 4,800 + 18% GST for the policy period of 2022-24, and the monthly premium of Rs 500 would be deducted from the salary/pension. The scheme is applicable to universities and local self-government institutions as well.

PM Modi Launches Nutrition Scheme for Women in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ''Mukhyamantri Matrushakti Yojna' a nutrition scheme for pregnant and lactating mothers- in Gujarat's Vadodara ahead of the state assembly polls.
The Rs. 800-crore Mukhya Mantri Matrushakti Yojana aims to provide nutritional food to pregnant and lactating women.
The MMY scheme applies to women who are conceiving for the first time and mothers who have given birth to their first child enrolled at AWCs along with pregnant and lactating mothers (up to 2 years) who are enrolled in the Health department software.
Meanwhile, Poshan Sudha Yojana, aiming to meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women, was also expanded to all tribal-dominated areas of Gujarat.
