Unmesh: Himachal Pradesh International Literary Festival
The Three-day literature fest 'Unmesha', which was jointly organised by the Union Ministry of Culture, Sahitya Akademi and the Himachal Pradesh Department of Language and Culture, was part of the series of events under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. It was held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
"Unmesha-Festival of Expression", saw more than 425 litterateurs from 15 countries in attendance.
Prominent personalities from the art and literature, including the winner of the 2022 Man Booker Prize Geetanjali Shree, Gulzar, Deepti Naval, Sonal Mansingh, Prasoon Joshi, Vikram Sampath, Vishal Bhardwaj and SL Bhyrappa participated in the event.
It featured discussions, paper presentations, poetry readings and story readings by eminent writers, poets and critics. There were sessions on tribal literature and LGBTQ writings and one session on Himachali folk songs too.

Italy Creates New Museum for Trafficked Ancient Artefacts
Italy was so successful in recovering ancient artworks and artefacts that were illegally exported from the country that it created a museum for them.
The Museum of Rescued Art was inaugurated in a cavernous structure that is part of Rome's ancient Baths of Diocletian. The Octagonal Hall exhibition space was designed to showcase Italy's efforts, through patient diplomacy and court challenges, to get valuable antiquities repatriated, often after decades in foreign museums or private collections.

Lord Buddha's Holy Relics from India Installed at Mongolia's Gandan Monastery for 11-Day Exposition
Holy relics of Lord Buddha from India and Mongolia were ceremoniously installed at the Gandan Monastery here amidst prayers and Buddhist chants by monks on the auspicious occasion of the Mongolian Buddha Day. The four holy Kapilavastu relics, brought from India by a delegation led by Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju, and other relics from Mongolia will remain on display at the Gandan for the Buddhist devotees to seek blessing until June 24.
Those present to receive the holy relics included Mongolian Culture Minister Ch Nomin, MP and Chairperson of India Mongolia Friendship Group Ms Saranchimeg; Advisor to the President of Mongolia Khamba Nomun Khan and a large number of monks among other dignitaries. These Holy Relics are part of the 22 special relics kept in New Delhi's National Museum.

PM Modi Unveil First Underground Museum of Revolutionaries at Raj Bhavan in Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country's first-ever underground 'Gallery of Revolutionaries', a museum dedicated to the luminaries of the Indian Independence Movement, created at the Maharashtra Raj Bhavan. The PM threw open the gallery themed as 'Revolution Saga' that has come up in the subterranean network of 13 pre-World War-I (First WW) British era bunkers, discovered in the sprawling Raj Bhavan campus in August 2016 during the tenure of the then Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao.
The gallery includes information on the freedom heroes, their role in the Independence movement, sculptures, rare photographs, murals and even details on tribal revolutionaries drawn by school-kids.

Union Minister Sitharaman Inaugurates National Museum of Customs and GST
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the National Museum of Customs and GST "Dharohar" in Goa as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Iconic week of the Ministry of Finance. The dedication ceremony was performed in a unique manner, with the Finance Minister removing the golden sand from single piece of rock art installed at the centuries-old heritage building in which the museum is housed. The two-storey 'Blue building', which was earlier known as Alfandega, during the period of Portuguese rule in Goa, has been standing on the banks of the Mandovi River in Panaji for more than 400 years.
Dharohar is one of its kind museum in the country that showcases not only the artefacts seized by Indian Customs but also depicts various aspects of work performed by the Customs Department while safeguarding the economic frontiers of the country, its heritage, flora & fauna and the society.
