Agnipath Recruitment Scheme Announcement

The government announced the radical "Agnipath" scheme to recruit the bulk of soldiers only for four years in a bid to slash the ballooning salary and pension bills, amid major concerns the move will adversely impact the professionalism, military ethos and fighting spirit of the over 14-lakh strong armed forces.
Agnipath scheme will see around 45,000 youngsters in the age group of 17.5 to 21 being annually inducted into the armed forces for a four-year duration, which will include six months of basic training, with a monthly salary of Rs. 30,000-40,000 and allowances. They will be entitled to awards, medals and insurance cover like the regular cadre of soldiers, airmen and sailors. After four years, only 25% of the "Agniveers" will be retained or re-enlisted in the regular cadre based on merit, willingness and medical fitness.

Himachal Cabinet Gives Nod to Drone Policy

The Himachal Cabinet gave nod to the Himachal Pradesh Drone Policy 2022 with the objective of propagating Drone-enabled technology for heralding economic prosperity and creating employment avenues.
The policy envisions creating a holistic Drone ecosystem built upon the foundation of Governance And Reforms Using Drones (GARUD). It aims at harnessing digital sky opportunities through institutional linkages with the National Education Policy, 2020, HP Industrial Investment Policy, HP Start-up/Innovation Scheme, National Skill Qualification Framework for ensuring future readiness of students and empowering them to access the job opportunities in the Drone Sector.

Sagarmala Young Professional Scheme

Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways launched a scheme called "Sagarmala Young Professional Scheme", in a bid to engage talented, dynamic and forward-thinking young professionals in different divisions of the Ministry.
Sagarmala Young Professional scheme focuses on active on-the-ground learning for young professionals.
Through this scheme, these professionals will gain the opportunity to learn about functioning of government and developmental policy concerns.
Under the scheme, over 25 young professionals will be hired.
They will be required to have qualification in B. E or B. Tech, B. Planning or MBA or equivalent degree in relevant subject or field, apart from a minimum three year of relevant work experience.
Initially, they will be engaged for 2 years, which is extendable to additional 2 years based on performance.

Scindia Launches Air Sports Policy

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the National Air Sports Policy 2022 with an aim to tap the country's potential in the field of air sports.
The minister said that the policy can be an economic multiplier and generate revenue of Rs. 8,000-Rs. 10,000 crore.
The Air Sports Federation of India (ASFI) will be the nodal body for air sports. Besides, 13 other air sports associations will be formed for various other air sports disciplines -- aerobatics, powered aircraft, rotorcraft, ballooning, drones, parachuting, aeromodelling and model rocketry, gliding and powered gliding, hand-gliding, paragliding and paramotoring.
Besides regulating air sports, ASFI will also give certification, organise competitions, and provide awards.

Jagan Flags off New Welfare Scheme to Supply Equipment to Farmers

The YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh rolled out a scheme to make tractors and combine harvesters available to groups of farmers at subsidised cost at custom hiring centres set up across the state.
The scheme, called YSR Yantra Seva, was launched by Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at Chuttugunta village in Guntur district. He flagged off as many as 3,800 tractors and 320 combine harvesters lined up at the event.
As part of the programme, the Chief Minister also credited Rs. 175 crore into the accounts of 5,260 farmers through direct benefit transfer under the Rythu Bharosa Scheme.

Rajasthan's Special Health Care Abhiyan 'Anchal' for Pregnant Women

In Rajasthan, a Special Health Care Abhiyan 'Anchal' was launched for pregnant women. More than 13 thousand women will be benefited from this Abhiyan. During the campaign, 13,144 pregnant women were tested for their hemoglobin levels, out of which 11,202 were found to be anemic. These women were advised to take the right medicine and necessary nutritious diet. They were also advised to keep themselves stress-free.
This unique campaign was started to ensure all necessary medical aid to pregnant women at the pre and post-natal stage so that maternal and infant mortality rates could be reduced. Under this campaign, it is also ensured that the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife and ASHA workers will keep in constant contact with the pregnant women of their respective areas and provide them with necessary counseling and treatment as and when required.

Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar Launches the Scheme "SHRESHTA"

Union Minister of social Justice and empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar launched the Scheme "SHRESHTA"-Scheme for residential education for students in High school in Targeted Areas. The Scheme for Residential Education for Students in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) was formulated with the objective to provide quality education and opportunities for even the poorest. Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high quality education for meritorious but poor SC students in CBSE-affiliated reputed residential schools across the country.
The students, belonging to Scheduled Castes, studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year are eligible for availing the benefits of scheme are selected through a transparent mechanism through a National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS), which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission in class 9th and class 11th.

Government Limits LPG Subsidy to Ujjwala Beneficiaries

The government limited subsidy on cooking gas (LPG) for only 9 crore poor women and other beneficiaries who got free connections under the Ujjwala scheme and the remaining users, including households, will pay the market price. Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries will get Rs. 200 per cylinder subsidy for 12 bottles in a year to help ease some of the burden arising from cooking gas rates rising to record levels.
A 14.2-kg LPG cylinder costs Rs. 1,003 in the national capital. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries will get Rs. 200 subsidy directly in their bank account and the effective price for them would be Rs. 803 per 14.2-kg cylinder. For the rest, it will cost Rs. 1,003 in Delhi. The Rs. 200 subsidy will cost the government Rs. 6,100 crore.
