GAIL Wins 15th CIDC Vishwakarma Award for Barauni - Guwahati Pipeline

GAIL (India) Limited was honoured with the prestigious 15th CIDC Vishwakarma Award in the 'Achievement Award for Best Construction Projects' category for its remarkable accomplishment in the Barauni – Guwahati Natural Gas Pipeline project (BGPL). The project, an integral component of the Jagdishpur – Haldia & Bokaro – Dhamra Pipeline project, marked a significant milestone by connecting North-East India to the National Gas Grid for the first time.
The Barauni – Guwahati Natural Gas Pipeline project spans 718 km and serves as a pivotal conduit for delivering environmentally friendly natural gas to the entire North-East region through the Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL). Notably, the project caters to prominent customers such as IOCL refineries at Guwahati and Bongaigaon, as well as nine Geographical Areas for City Gas Distribution across Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam.
The CIDC Vishwakarma Awards, inspired by the ethos of construction excellence embodied by Lord Vishwakarma, celebrate and incentivize individuals and organizations to elevate their performance and make significant contributions to the Indian construction industry's growth and development.

Dr. Karthik Kommuri Honoured at National Fame Awards 2024

Dr. Karthik Kommuri is renowned for his exceptional patient care and commitment to contemporary practice in orthodontics and dentistry. He is known for his unwavering dedication to patient well-being, pursuit of excellence, and creating brighter smiles.
In recognition of his efforts, Dr. Kommuri was felicitated with the Distinguished Overseas Dental Specialist (Orthodontics and Orofacial Pain) title at the National Fame Awards 2024, held at The Club in Mumbai. The chief guest of the ceremony was Dia Mirza.
The National Fame Awards, an initiative by Brands Impact, aim to recognise exceptional individuals and organisations that have achieved fame and nationwide popularity. The awards celebrate inspiring achievements and positive impact in various fields.

Hockey India Awards 2023

Hardik Singh and Salima Tete were named the Players of the Year for 2023 in the men's and women's categories, respectively, at the sixth annual Hockey India Awards given in 2024.
During the event, Hockey India announced the revival of the Hockey India League (HIL), which will return in January 2025 after a hiatus since 2017. The revived league will feature eight men's teams and six women's teams, with auctions likely to be held after the Paris Olympics.
The awards ceremony saw teams and individuals felicitated for their achievements in the past year (2023), with a total prize pool of Rs. 7.56 crore.
Interestingly, the 2016 Junior World Cup winning men's team was also honoured at the event, eight years after their triumph.

Sreejesh (Goalkeeper of the Year) – Rs. 5 lakh, Harmanpreet Singh (Defender of the Year) – Rs. 5 lakh, Hardik Singh (Midfielder of the Year) – Rs. 5 lakh, Abhishek (Forward of the Year) – Rs. 5 lakh, Deepika Soreng (Women's U-21 Player of the Year) – Rs. 10 lakh, Araijeet Singh Hundal (Men's U-21 Player of the Year) – Rs. 10 lakh, Salima Tete (Player of the Year, Women) – Rs. 25 lakh and Ashok Kumar (Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award) – Rs. 30 lakh.

Professor Meena Charanda Honoured with 'International Culture Award' 2024

Professor Meena Charanda, Principal of Kalindi College, Delhi University, was awarded the prestigious 'International Culture Award' for the year 2024. Prof. Charanda received this honour in recognition of her remarkable work in the field of education and social service. The award ceremony took place at the India International Centre.
During the award ceremony, Prof. Charanda was presented with a memento, a plaque, a shield and a citation from the university.
Prof. Charanda has been teaching in the Political Science Department of Kalindi College for more than two decades.
She holds a PhD degree from Delhi University, where she studied Dalit Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh.
Prof. Charanda has authored a book on the role of Dalit MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
She has published more than 50 articles in various newspapers and magazines.

The event celebrated and honoured top industry leaders, gracing the occasion with the presence of industry leaders and celebrities, including Cine icon Ada Sharma, who presented the award to Vijay Jain.
The Times Power Icon 2024 Award acknowledged and celebrated Vijay Jain's visionary leadership and outstanding achievements in the real estate sector.
