The event marked a significant milestone, being only the second time South Asia has hosted this prestigious aquatics meet. India's Mann Sharma Begins Quest for World's First-ever Burpee Marathon
Indian athlete and adventurer Mann Sharma made history as he officially kicked off Mann vs Burpees, the world's first-ever Burpee Marathon at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium in New Delhi. This World Book of Records attempt will see Mann cover the full marathon distance of 42.195 kilometres entirely through burpee broad jumps over the next ten days (concludes on October 15). The event was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Union Minister for Sports Mansukh Mandaviya.
Organised by Question Associates in collaboration with Fit India and officially recognised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the event is expected to redefine human endurance and resilience. Beyond the physical feat, Mann vs Burpees is a mission to raise funds and awareness for The One Friend NGO, which supports education and empowerment for underprivileged children across India.

India Confirms its First-ever Medal at Badminton World Junior Mixed Team Championships
India beat Korea and assured itself of a historic BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships medal at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati.
The host beat Korea 44-45, 45-30, 45-33 in a nerve-wracking quarter-final clash, and set up a semi-final contest against Asian U-19 Mixed Team champion Indonesia, which defeated Chinese Taipei 45-35, 45-35.
The semi-final appearance also assured India of its first-ever mixed-team medal in the history of the BWF World Junior Championships.

BWF World Junior Championships 2025 Begin in Guwahati
After a gap of 17 years, the BWF World Junior Championships returned to India, marking a major milestone for Indian badminton. The prestigious tournament, featuring the world's best young shuttlers, is being held in Guwahati, Assam, from October 6 to 19, 2025. This is the second time India is hosting the event—the first being in Pune in 2008—and it reaffirms the country's growing role as a global badminton hub.
The 2025 BWF World Junior Championships are divided into two parts.
Suhandinata Cup (Mixed Team Event)
Scheduled in the first week (October 6–11)
Features 36 national teams competing for team supremacy
Eye-Level Cup (Individual Events)
Takes place from October 13–19
Includes singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories
The tournament brings together top junior players from powerhouse nations such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and France, along with a strong Indian contingent eager to perform on home soil.
MCA to Install Dilip Vengsarkar's Statue at Wankhede
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will install a life-size statue of former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar at the Wankhede stadium. His would be the third statue in the stadium, after those of Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar.
Vengsarkar who featured in 116 Tests and 129 ODIs, also served as the national team's chairman of selectors. The high point was spotting Virat Kohli and fast-tracking him to the national side. Besides, he also served as vice-president of MCA and was also the member of Apex Council of BCCI, representing Indian Cricketers Association. Three years ago, MCA had named a stand after him at the Wankhede Stadium.
