Fourth Edition of Indian Navy-Bangladesh Navy Coordinated Patrol CORPAT Held in Northern Bay of B...

The fourth edition of the Indian Navy-Bangladesh Navy Coordinated Patrol CORPAT was held in the Northern Bay of Bengal. Indian Navy and Bangladesh Navy units undertook joint patrolling along the International Maritime Boundary Line IMBL. The last IN-BN CORPAT was conducted in October 2020.
Two indigenously built IN Ships - Kora, a guided-missile corvette and Sumedha, an offshore patrol vessel participated in the exercise along with Bangladesh Navy Ships BNS Ali Haider and BNS Abu Ubaidah. In addition, Maritime Patrol Aircraft of both navies also participated in the Coordinated Patrol.
The regular conduct of CORPATs has strengthened mutual understanding and enhanced interoperability between both the navies in countering transnational maritime threats at sea.

Navy Locates 48-year Old Record of 1971 India-Pakistan War Victory Song

Over two years after the 1971 India-Pakistan war, an album on martial music was released on the Republic Day in 1974 to mark the achievement of the Indian Navy. The album named "A Salute to Our Navy" featured 14 songs, including "Vijay", commemorating the decisive victory.
At that time, black vinyl "LP" records existed that went out of fashion as the cassette replaced them in early 1980s. The CD soon replaced cassette as a medium of storing and playing music.
Five decades since the LP was released, information on its existence was almost lost, but was discovered — by chance. The herculean challenge to locate this vintage LP record spanned across various cities, antique shops, collectors, online queries and even with the copyright holding company that had released it. Finally, a copy of the record in mint condition was located in a vintage record shop situated in the recesses of Old Delhi.
All 14 tracks were recovered and the historical musical artifact was presented to Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar. It contained both vintage LP disk of 1974 and a pen drive with the restored and digitised audio and video.

India's First Indigenous Trainer Aircraft, HANSA-NG Successfully Completed Engine Relight Test in...

'HANSA-NG', a two-seater flying trainer aircraft, design and developed by CSIR-NAL, successfully completed in-flight engine relight test at DRDO's Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) facility at Challakere. Flight test was carried out at an altitude of 7,000-8,000 feet with the speed range of 60 to 70 knots by Wg Cdr K V Prakash and Wg Cdr NDS Reddy, Test Pilots from Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE), Indian Air force (IAF).
CSIR-NAL mentioned that the in-flight engine relight test is the most critical and important milestone towards certification of the aircraft by DGCA.

First Indigenous Naval Anti-ship Missile Tested

The DRDO and Indian Navy conducted a maiden flight test of the indigenously developed naval anti-ship missile. The missile was launched from a naval helicopter from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the Odisha coast. The missile followed the desired sea skimming trajectory and reached the designated target with a high degree of accuracy. The mission met all its objectives; it is the first indigenous air launched anti-ship missile system for the Navy. The missile employed many new technologies, including an indigenously developed launcher for the helicopter.
The missile guidance system includes state-of-the-art navigation system and integrated avionics.

Two Warships 'Surat', 'Udaygiri' Launched

Two indigenously built warships 'Surat' and 'Udaygiri' were launched at Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai. With this, India take a step forward to speed up production and match China's growing prowess at the sea and the pace of shipbuilding. 'Surat' and 'Udaygiri' are part of the 37 ships and submarines currently under construction at Indian shipyards.
The Navy's target is to have 170 combat ships by 2027. At present, it has 130 warships and 230 aircraft. The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA-N) is estimated to be a 355-warship force.
China added 138 warships in the last 10 years while India commissioned just 28 ships and submarines over the last seven years.

In Manipur, the Indian Army opens a coaching center for poor pupils

The Indian Army started providing residential tutoring to children from economically disadvantaged and deprived areas of the northeast to prepare them for all-India competitive tests such as engineering and medical admission.
The Indian Army's Red Shield Division has inked a tripartite Memorandum of understanding with enterprise partner State Bank of India Foundation and mentoring partner National Integrity and Educational Development Organization to develop the Red Shield Centre for Excellence and Wellness.
According to the GOC Red Shield Division, the Indian Army has stayed at the forefront of nation building and has consistently contributed across a wide range of disciplines, particularly in the area of young empowerment.

Deployment of INS Gharial to Seychelles - Mission Sagar IX

Following up on the proposal received from the Govt of Seychelles , three ceremonial Saluting Guns, with ammunition, were delivered by the Ship to the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF). These were formally presented by Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag (Retd), High Commissioner of India to Seychelles to Brigadier Michael Rosette, the Chief of Defence (CDF), SDF in a solemn ceremony held onboard INS Gharial.
- INS Gharial also transshipped one 15 m Wave Rider Patrol Boat, sourced by Seychelles from Colombo and was handed over to Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF). During the stay of the Ship at Seychelles, the Indian Navy facilitated training of SDF personnel in domain specific maritime disciplines.
