Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu Releases Book 'Modi@20'

  • Vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu released the book "Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery". Comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Mahatma Gandhi, vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu said that as the latter took the freedom struggle out of the hands of the elite to turn it into a mass movement, the former converted developmental initiatives into a mass movement.
  • He said that Modi put to effective use his valuable learnings to write a development script for his state of Gujarat as its chief minister and scaled up the same at national level as the Prime Minister. He said Modi's vision, his dreams and 'Mission India' have been shaped by his extensive travels and insightful, experiential journey.
  • Lauding the efforts of the Prime Minister, Shah said PM Modi presented an excellent example of how schemes can be made for the last person of society in a sensitive manner, and how they can be made available to the people.

Bengali Translation 'Meursault, Contre-enquête' Wins Romain Rolland Book Prize 2022

  • The fifth Romain Rolland Book Prize – Romain Rolland Book Prize 2022 was awarded to the Bengali translation of the French novel "Meursault, contre- enquête" (The Meursault Investigation). The award ceremony was organized by the French Institute in India. Meursault, contre-enquête is the debut novel of Algerian writer and journalist Kamel Daoud.
  • The award was presented to translator Trinanjan Chakraborty and publisher Esha Chatterjee of Patra Bharati, a leading publisher of prestigious Bengali books, during the French Literary Festival-French LitFest 2022 at Bikaner House in New Delhi. This is the first time Patra Bharati, the publisher, has gotten this honour.
  • The Romain Rolland Book Prize, which was established in 2017, honours the finest translation of a French title into any Indian language, including English. As part of the prize, the winning publisher and translator will each receive a guided trip to the Paris Book Fair 2023 (Livre Paris 2023).

A Book 'INDO-PAK WAR 1971- Reminiscences of Air Warriors' Released by Rajnath Singh

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released a book titled 'INDO-PAK WAR 1971- Reminiscences of Air Warriors' at the 37th Air Chief Marshal PC Lal Memorial Lecture organised by the Air Force Association in New Delhi, Delhi. The book was edited by Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh and Group Captain Shailendra Mohan. The book features 50 Swarnim articles written by veterans narrating their experiences in detail.
  • Defence Minister also paid tribute to Air Chief Marshal Pratap Chandra Lal (PC Lal). Air Chief Marshal Pratap Chandra Lal (PC Lal), served as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff during the 1965 war and had served as the 7th Chief of the Air Staff during the 1971 war.

'Tholkilla Njan', the Autobiography of Retired IAS Officer Teeka Ram Meena

  • 'Tholkilla Njan', the autobiography of retired IAS officer Teeka Ram Meena which hit the stands in May 2022 recounts many of the eventful moments the 1988 batch officer experienced in his long career. The autobiography was brought out by DC Books and was released by Shashi Tharoor, MP, at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club. A former Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala), Mr. Meena had retired in the rank of Additional Chief Secretary in January 2022.
  • 'Tholkilla Njan' covers the 1988 batch IAS officer's early days in Rajasthan and is also partly a 'service story,' recounting his life as a bureaucrat in Kerala. The latter section recalls his experiences, often eventful, some unpleasant, with the political leaders of his time.

Devendra Fadnavis Releases Book on Amit Shah "Amit Shah Ani Bhajapachi Vatchal"

  • Devendra Fadnavis, former Chief Minister (CM) of Maharashtra, released a Marathi book on Amit Shah, titled "Amit Shah Ani Bhajapachi Vatchal", a Marathi version of the book "Amit Shah and The March of BJP". The book was published by Bloomsbury India.
  • The book was originally written by Dr. Anirban Ganguly and Shiwanand Dwivedi and it was translated into Marathi by Dr. Jyostna Kolhatkar. The book documents the life and political journey of Amit Shah and details his contribution to BJP in making it the world's biggest political organisation.
