Haryana Govt. Launches 'e-Adhigam' Scheme to Distribute Tablets to Students

  • The Haryana State Government launched the 'e-Adhigam' scheme under which nearly 3 lakh students will be receiving tablet computers to aid their online education. The state government has planned to provide the gadget to five lakh students. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the Advance Digital Haryana Initiative of Government with Adaptive Modules (Adigham) scheme at Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak, Haryana.
  • As per reports, the Class 11 students of Haryana government schools will get the tablets after they clear the Class 10 board exams and qualify for the succeeding year. These devices come with pre-loaded content along with personalised and adaptive learning software, and 2GB of free data. The tablet is the new classroom and "through e-books, it has become a full-fledged classroom.

Telangana Govt. Extends Insurance Coverage to Handloom & Power Loom Weavers under 'Nethanna Bima'...

  • Telangana state Government announced the extension of insurance coverage to handloom and power loom weavers under 'Nethanna Bima' (Weaver's Insurance) Scheme. The State Government issued orders to extend insurance coverage of 5 lakh rupees for weavers under the Insurance Scheme on par with farmers insurance scheme.
  • Over 29 crore rupees were sanctioned for implementing the scheme during the current year. The Cabinet Sub Committee had proposed to cover over 55 thousand handloom and power loom and ancillary weavers in the State. The insurance coverage will be extended to weavers in the age group of 18 to 59 years.

Chhattisgarh Launches Doorstep Delivery Mukhyamantri Mitaan Yojana

  • Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel launched 'Mukhyamantri Mitaan Yojana' (Mitaan stands for a friend), which will be implemented on a pilot basis in 14 municipal corporations including the cities like Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. Under the Scheme, the residents of Chhattisgarh can avail around 100 public services at their doorstep.
  • Normally, citizens make multiple rounds to blocks, municipal corporations, tehsils, government offices and other departments. With this scheme, the government aims to bring a paradigm shift in the way citizens get required government services.
  • It will make the public service delivery system equally accessible to all citizens in a time-bound manner with enhanced accountability, transparency, responsiveness and inclusiveness.

Samba District Covers 100% Registration under ABPMJAY- SEHAT Scheme

  • In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Samba district of the Jammu division became the first district in India to cover 100% of households under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY)- SEHAT scheme. The district achieved this milestone after the conclusion of a special registration drive organized by the State Health Agency (SHA) from April 11 to April 21 in all BDO offices across the district which was aimed to cover all families under the ABPMJAY SEHAT scheme in the district.
  • The Samba district has a total of 62,641 families with 3,04,510 people eligible for ABPM-JAY SEHAT golden cards. However, 100% family coverage for the Ayushman Bharat Golden card in the district is a major achievement for the UT Government. This ambitious health insurance scheme enables all the residents of J&K including employees and pensioners as well as their families to avail of cashless quality healthcare services across public and empanelled private hospitals across India.

PM Street Vendor's Scheme (SVANidhi) to Continue Till December 2024

  • The Centre approved the continuation of the Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme till December 2024. The approval was given by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In PM SVANidhi, affordable collateral-free loans are given to street vendors. The approval increased the loan amount to Rs 8,100 crore, thereby providing the street vendors working capital to further expand their business and making them AtmaNirbhar.
  • The budget for the promotion of digital payments, including cashback to the vendors, has also been enhanced. The approval is expected to benefit nearly 1.2 crore people in urban India.
