India, Namibia hold FOC to deepen collaboration in DPI and minerals

India and Namibia conducted the fifth round of Foreign Office Consultations on 19–20 January 2026, agreeing to deepen cooperation in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), health, agriculture, defence and critical minerals. The discussions reviewed the full range of bilateral ties, including trade, investment, education and capacity building, and agreed to hold the next round in Windhoek at a mutually convenient date. The talks were co-chaired by Janesh Kain, Joint Secretary (East & Southern Africa), and Charles Josob, Acting Head of Department for Bilateral Relations. Officials stressed the importance of expanding people-to-people exchanges and regional cooperation in shared interests.

EU and Mercosur Sign Landmark Free Trade Agreement

ICGS Sankalp Arrives in Mauritius in Deep Ocean Deployment

ICGS Sankalp, an Offshore Patrol Vessel, arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius, as part of its ongoing overseas deployment under SAGAR. The visit will include professional exchanges with the Mauritian coast guard and other maritime agencies, with sea and harbour drills, oil pollution response exercises, and damage control training planned. Two women officers are embarked on Sankalp, highlighting the expanding role of women in maritime operations. UAE President to Visit India on January 19, 2026
