Two-day One Health conference begins in Chennai to integrate health security and biosecurity

Two-day national conference and a tabletop exercise on One Health began on 2 July 2026 in Chennai. The event was organised by the Deccan Centre for International Relations in collaboration with the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation and LEAD at IFMR/KREA University. One Health is a multidisciplinary approach that links human health, animal health and environmental health. It is used to study zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance and environmental surveillance. The National One Health Mission aims to coordinate action across health, veterinary, environment and science sectors. Four sessions addressed Biology and Future Innovations; Governance and International Cooperation; One Health as the foundation of national health and biosecurity; and Biosecurity, Dual-Use Research and Laboratory Networks. PM Modi to Inaugurate Greenfield Refinery and Multiple Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on 4 July 2026. In Rajasthan, he will inaugurate the 9 MMTPA greenfield HPCL Rajasthan Oil Refinery at Pachpadra, Balotra, a project developed with government collaboration and private participation costing about ₹79,450 crore. First India-Made Export-Import Shipping Container Launched

CBI launches Chakra-VI to dismantle digital arrest fraud network

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched Operation Chakra-VI to dismantle a large cyber arrest fraud network. Officials said searches were conducted at about 80 locations across 16 states, including Punjab, Gujarat, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Assam. Investigators report that the suspects employed forged court documents, fake legal threats, and websites that closely resembled official portals to dupe victims. The operation is linked to more than 200 cybercrime cases, with victims being coerced through impersonation of law enforcement or judicial authorities. Police and cybercrime units are coordinating with national agencies to trace proceeds, seize illicit assets, and plug gaps in the fraud network.
