Punjab CM Gives Tag of 'State Festival' to Jagannath Rath Yatra
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi declared Lord Krishna Balram Jagannath Rath Yatra as an annual state festival. The announcement for the same was made during flagging off the 25th Shri Lord Krishna Balram Jagannath Rath Yatra. He also announced a grant of Rs. 2.51 crore for the Iskcon Temple in Ludhiana, Punjab. Notably, Punjab Government is also developing the Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana Research Centre on a 20-acre land in Patiala.

Artists from across the Country Perform Lokrang
For the first time in two years, Rajasthan's Art and Culture Minister Dr. Bulaki Das Kalla inaugurated the 11-day long 'Lokrang-2021' and annual festival of folk artists, at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) in Jaipur, Rajathan.
It was organized by JKK, Arts and Culture Department and RUDA (Rural Non-Agriculture Development Agency) under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatsav.
The states which participated are Rajasthan, West Bengal, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Assam, Punjab, Karanataka, Chhattisgarh, Madya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Kolkata's Durga Puja Gets UNESCO Heritage Status
UNESCO accorded heritage status to Kolkata's Durga Puja festival, a move that has been hailed by the people of the state.
Durga Puja is a classic fusion of religion and culture. It is regarded with a lot of pride. This festival is performed and celebrated predominantly by the Bengali community.
Suvaprasanna, the chairman of State Heritage Commission, said that the Red road carnival, which displays the craftsmanship that goes into the making of Durga puja pandals, have made more people across the world aware of the grandeur that is synonymous with the festival.

Gold 'Lotus Flower' Pendant from Queen Nefertiti's Time Discovered in Cyprus
A precious-gem-studded "lotus flower" pendant similar to one worn by ancient Egypt's Queen Nefertiti has been unearthed in a set of tombs in Cyprus. The pendant is one of hundreds of opulent grave goods from around the Mediterranean region that have been uncovered at the site, including gemstones, ceramics and jewelry.
Archaeologists from the New Swedish Cyprus Expedition first unearthed the two Bronze Age tombs, both underground chambers, in the ancient city of Hala Sultan Tekke in 2018. One hundred and fifty five human remains and 500 funerary goods were found in the tombs, placed in layers on top of one another, suggesting that the burial chambers were used over several generations.

Bihar Wins Gold Medal in 40th International Trade Fair
Bihar bagged gold medal in the 40th India International Trade Fair (IITF) held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi for "excellence in display" in state government/union territory pavilion category.
The Bihar Pavilion comprised 41 stalls exhibiting the finest products from the state to reflect the traditional folk art culture.
Bihar's resident commissioner Palka Sahni and the director of Upendra Maharathi Craft Research Institute, Ashok Sinha received the award.
