Shell and Microsoft Join Hands to Provide Digital Skills to Non-IT Students
Shell India and Microsoft announced a collaboration to impart digital skills to students in vocational education institutions as part of their joint commitment to equip tomorrow's workforce with future-ready skills.
The project aims to enable 5,000 underserved youth across 24 government institutes with digital productivity and employability skills and prepare them for digital careers in the manufacturing and energy sectors.
This collaboration between Shell and Microsoft will help create a future-ready workforce and open new avenues of learning and job opportunities for students in ITI and polytechnic colleges.

Bihar and Chattisgarh among States that Allocated more towards Education
As per reports, among the big states in the country, Chhattisgarh and Bihar allocated the most proportion of their budget towards education in FY23. While Chhattisgarh allocated 18.82 per cent of the state's estimated net budget expenditure to education, Bihar allocated 18.3 per cent.
The states that have spent a higher portion of their budget expenditure on education are Delhi, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh, which allocated 22 per cent, 20 per cent and 19 per cent, respectively, of their budgets on education this fiscal year.
CBSE Prohibits Use of ChatGPT in Class 10, 12 Board Exams
CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) announced that the use of AI-powered ChatGPT during the ongoing board exams is strictly prohibited and if students are caught using the platform, they will have to bear the consequences. The viral chatbot lets students and other users get answers to complex queries in seconds. The AI-powered ChatGPT is also capable of solving math problems. The CBSE board exams for Class 12 and 10 students have started. The board already prohibits the use of electronic gadgets inside the exam hall. However, it is now specifically prohibiting the use of ChatGPT inside board exam halls.

IIT Madras Faculty Elected as International Member of US National Academy of Engineering
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) faculty Prof R. I. Sujith was elected as an international member of the United States National Academy of Engineering (NAE). He was elected in recognition of his contributions to engineering 'for applications of dynamical systems theory to the understanding and control of instabilities in engineering systems.'
He is one of the 18 international members newly elected.
Academy membership honours those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice, or education, including, where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature" and to "the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education."
Prof R. I. Sujith is the second Indian to be elected to the Aerospace Section of the National Academy of Engineering after B. N. Suresh.
Six Indian B-schools Find Place in FT MBA Global School Ranking
The Financial Times released the list of the global top 100 MBA institutes. Indian School of Business (ISB) and Indian Institutes of Management at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta Indore and Lucknow figured in the Financial Times (FT) Global MBA 2023 ranking. While ISB slipped to 39th rank from 32nd in 2023, IIMs at Indore and Lucknow secured their place in the chart. IIM Ahmedabad improved its position to 51 from 62 in 2022.
The ranking reflects a significant increase in the number of Indian business schools on the list over the past decade, with only two schools ranked in the top 100 in 2013.
US business schools dominate the top of the FT Global MBA Ranking in its 25th year. But for the first time, Columbia in New York took the top spot.

National University of Singapore Business School Launches CSO Programme in India
The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School in collaboration with education platform Emeritus launched its first executive education online programme, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The programme will start on March 28.
The nine-month CSO programme is developed for senior-level professionals with over 10 years of work experience who are looking to develop their strategic decision-making skills to address an ever-changing business climate.
The programme is split into three sections — 3 core courses with in-depth video lectures from distinguished NUS Business School faculty, along with live sessions with industry practitioners; learners can choose from three electives for their second programme.

MCD Drafts 'Vision@2047' to Improve Education with Infra Upgrade, Tech
The MCD prepared a roadmap to improve the quality of primary education in Delhi with a 'vision document' focussing on the development of sports infrastructure, safety and hygiene in schools, and educating students about gender equality.
Under 'Vision@2047', the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will focus on various initiatives to bolster its mechanism to impart primary education into a result-oriented system.
In this direction, the civic body is implementing the National Education Policy 2020 in all its schools with all provisions.
Under the 'Vision@2047', the MCD would focus on educating students about gender equality at the early childhood stage. With this objective, the MCD is planning to transform its double-shift schools into a single-shift schools, so as to allow the mingling of boys and girls from an early age, which is mandatory for inculcating the necessary values like respecting the opposite gender.

IIT Madras Launches Minor Stream in 'Personal and Professional Development' for BTech Students
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) launched a minor stream in 'Personal and Professional Development'. An undergraduate student needs to take a basket of courses to fulfil the requirement of minoring in the stream. The courses/programmes in this stream are aimed to aid students in their personal and professional development.
The minor stream is open to all the students of BTech and dual degree programmes while the courses offered under this programme are available as elective courses to all students of IIT-Madras irrespective of the programme they are in.
Over 15 courses are on offer including self-awareness; happiness habits and success; FLOW for high performance, systems thinking and discovering creativity.
IIT Guwahati Hosts Youth 20 Inception Meet 2023
Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Guwahati hosted the first ever Youth 20 Inception Meet 2023. The meeting was attended by 150 youth delegates from G20 countries including Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur.
