Divya Hegde Wins UN Women's Award for Leadership Commitment 2021
Divya Hegde, an Indian Climate Action Entrepreneur from Udupi, Karnataka, won UN Women's Award for Leadership Commitment at the 2021 Regional Asia-Pacific Women's Empowerment Principles Awards Ceremony. She has been recognized for her sustained efforts in advancing gender equality through climate action efforts with her organization, Baeru Environmental Services.

SAIL Honoured Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2021
Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), under the Ministry of Steel, was awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2021 for successive three years. The Award is given to organizations for significant achievements in Environment Management by Environment Foundation (WEF) since 1998.
The company's environmental protections measures are focused on adopting various environmental measures including, upgrading of pollution control facilities, water conservation efforts with the aim to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge, efficient handling of different solid wastes (viz. process waste, hazardous waste, canteen/township waste), carbon sequestration through afforestation, eco-restoration of the mined-out area and etc.

French Film Academy Honours Cate Blanchett with Cesar d'Honneur
Oscar winner Cate Blanchett will be felicitated with French cinema's top honour, the Cesar d'Honneur.
The announcement was made by the French Film Academy.
Blanchett will receive the Cesar d'Honneur, a lifetime achievement award, in Paris on February 25, 2022, as part of the 47th Cesar ceremony, France's equivalent to the Academy Awards.
Blanchett started her film career in 1997 with Australian war film 'Paradise' but found global fame with filmmaker Shekhar Kapur's 1998 period movie 'Elizabeth'.

Sunil Gavaskar Honoured with SJFI Medal 2021
The Sports Journalists' Federation of India (SJFI) has decided to honour former Indian Cricketer and cricket commentator Sunil Manohar Gavaskar with its prestigious 'SJFI Medal 2021' at SJFI Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Guwahati, Assam. SJFI Medal is the highest honour of SJFI. SJFI was founded on 27th February 1976 at the Eden Gardens, Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal.

Ramanujan Prize 2021 Winner Neena Gupta
Neena Gupta, a mathematician and professor at the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata (ISI Kolkata), was awarded the 2021 DST-ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize for young mathematicians from developing countries. She received the prize for her outstanding work in affine algebraic geometry and commutative algebra, in particular for her solution to the Zariski cancellation problem for affine spaces.
Gupta is the third woman to receive the Ramanujan Prize, which was first awarded in 2005. She is the fourth Indian to win this prestigious prize. Prior to her, three of the other four winners are also associated with the ISI Kolkata.
DBS Bank India Clinches Two Awards at ET BFSI Excellence Awards 2021
DBS Bank India's persistent efforts to drive digital transformation for its customers were awarded at the ET BFSI Excellence Awards 2021. An initiative of The Economic Times, ET BFSI Excellence Awards honours the best innovations & practices implemented by the BFSI industry in a dynamic and competitive environment.
The two awards won by the bank are:
'DBS Rapid (Real-time API)' solution in the 'Innovative API/Open Banking model' category
'Intelligent Banking' in the 'Best Digital Customer Experience initiative' category
DBS Bank India was awarded in the 'Innovative API/Open Banking model' category for DBS RAPID. The bank designed a real-time, digital payments solution for Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCI) – one of India's largest transportation and logistics players.
This unique solution leverages the UPI, allowing TCI to make real-time advance payments to the transport owners enabling them to withdraw cash from any ATMs. The solution has resulted in an annual savings of 4.5 million hours for TCI and helped transport owners make timely deliveries.
Malini Parthasarathy among Columbia Journalism School's Alumni Award Winners
Malini Parthasarathy, who is the chairperson of The Hindu Group Publishing, is among four veteran journalists who have been named by US-based Columbia Journalism School as the 2022 alumni award winners.
The other winners include Eric Marcus, founder and host of the "Making Gay History" podcast, Stuart Schear, vice-president for Communications and Marketing at American Jewish World Service, and Thomas Maier, investigative journalist at Newsday and author of several books on US history.
Parthasarathy, who is also the director for editorial strategy at The Hindu, has been a prominent political journalist for more than 30 years, writing stories and editorials on key issues in Indian politics. She spearheads The Hindu Group, which publishes a number of dailies and magazines.
