Veer Bal Diwas

Veer Bal Diwas is annually observed on December 26. Translated into 'Day of Brave Children', Veer Bal Diwas is a national commemoration honouring the bravery and sacrifice of the tenth Sikh guru— Guru Gobind Singh's youngest sons.
On this day, we commemorate the brave events that took place at Anandpur Sahib Fort, where Guru Gobind Singh, along with his family and disciples, were compelled to flee as the Mughal Army encircled the Anandpur fort.
During the chaos, Guru Gobind Singh's youngest sons, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, were captured by the Mughal forces and pressured to convert to Islam.
The two young boys courageously refused to abandon their faith, and consequently, Wazir Khan ordered them to be bricked alive around December 26, 1705.
Exemplifying bravery and loyalty to their religion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 declared to mark December 26 as Veer Bal Diwas annually to honour and remember their sacrifice.

Good Governance Day

December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is observed as Good Governance Day. The country honours Vajpayee's leadership and services to society on this day.
The Narendra Modi government in 2014 announced that December 25 would be observed as Good Governance Day in honour of Vajpayee's legacy.
Since 2014, the government has observed Good Governance Day annually.

National Consumer Day

Every year on December 24, Bharatiya Grahak Diwas, also known as National Consumer Day, is observed to raise awareness about consumer rights. In India, the Consumer Protection Act 1986, grants every citizen the rights to protect their interest and take remedial steps against any kind of exploitation by sellers, traders and big brands.
The Consumer Protection Bill got the President's assent on December 24, 1986. To recognise the significance of the day, December 24 is being celebrated as the National Consumer Day every year.
The theme for National Consumer Day 2024 is 'Virtual Hearings & Digital Access to Consumer Justice.'

National Farmers' Day

India observes National Farmers' Day, also known as Kisan Diwas, on December 23 every year to honour the farmers who are integral to the nation's progress. The day is marked by paying tribute to the life and achievements of Chaudhary Charan Singh, India's fifth Prime Minister, whose advocacy for farmers' rights led to the declaration of his birthday as a day dedicated to farmers.

National Mathematics Day

In India, National Mathematics Day is observed every year on December 22 to honour the life and achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of the most brilliant mathematicians the world has ever seen. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of mathematics in our everyday lives and its role in shaping the future.
National Mathematics Day was established in 2012 by the Indian government to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan. The announcement was made by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then Prime Minister of India, at Madras University.
The theme for National Mathematics Day 2024 is 'Mathematics: The Bridge to Innovation and Progress.' This theme focuses on how mathematics drives scientific discoveries, technological advancements, and solutions to real-world problems. It encourages students, teachers, and professionals to embrace the subject and use it to build a better, more innovative world.
