Former India Spinner Dilip Doshi Passes Away

Dilip Doshi, former India spinner, passed away at the age of 77.
Doshi made his India debut in 1979 following the retirement of the legendary Bishan Singh Bed and made his final appearance in the format in 1983. He played 33 matches and took 114 wickets with six five-wicket hauls. He also played 15 matches in the ODI format, between 1980 and 1982, picking 22 wickets at 23.81.

Vladimir Mestvirishvili, the legendary wrestling coach who devoted his life to Indian wrestling and had a hand in five of the six men's Olympic medals, passed away.
Twice Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, bronze winners Yogeshwar Dutt and Bajrang Punia, and Tokyo Games silver medallist Ravi Dahiya were all his products. Vladimir also coached World Championship medallists like Deepak Punia in his early years.

Former England Cricketer David Lawrence Passes Away

Gloucestershire Cricket announced the unfortunate demise of former cricketer and club president David 'Syd' Lawrence at the age of 61.
In 1988, he became the first British-born black man to play Test cricket for England, making his debut at Lord's against Sri Lanka. He played five Tests between 1988 and 1992, taking 18 wickets, including a famous five-wicket haul against the West Indies at The Oval in 1991 - in the same innings, he dismissed the great Viv Richards.
He also made one ODI appearance, recording remarkable figures of 4 for 67, which remain the best bowling figures by a player who only played a single One Day International.

Renowned ISRO Scientist and Tamil Author Nellai S. Muthu Passes Away

Nellai S. Muthu, a former ISRO scientist, acclaimed Tamil author, and recipient of numerous literary accolades, passed away at the age of 74. Known for his multifaceted contributions to science communication, children's literature, and Tamil writing, Muthu leaves behind an enduring legacy of over 170 books across genres, reflecting his passion for both space science and Tamil culture.
He served as a senior scientist at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, and worked alongside Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, contributing to India's space missions.
He is a recipient of the Kavimamani Award from the World Tamil Poets Association, Malaysia, and multiple awards from the Tamil Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Kashmiri Music Legend Ustad Ghulam Nabi Shah, 'Hamle Bulbul', Passes Away

Ustad Ghulam Nabi Shah, affectionately known as Hamle Bulbul, the celebrated torchbearer of Kashmiri folk music and culture, passed away. Revered for his soulful voice, exceptional mastery over the sarangi, and contributions to preserving Kashmiri lok sangeet, Shah's demise marks the end of a golden era in Kashmir's artistic and cultural history.
He was honoured with the Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Award (2011) for contributions to Kashmiri Lok Sangeet, and received numerous cultural accolades throughout his life for elevating Kashmiri music.
