Business Today Honours India's Top Women at 21st Annual Awards

Business Today hosted the prestigious Most Powerful Women (MPW) in Business Awards, in Mumbai, celebrating the trailblazing women leaders and innovators who are driving transformation in Corporate India. It was the 21st edition of the Most Powerful Women in Business list, a highly anticipated recognition of exceptional female leaders across industries.
The theme for this year's (2024) awards, 'Balance. Work. Life. Safety.', reflected the ongoing journey of corporate India toward creating a more balanced, diverse, and inclusive workforce. Over the past two decades, Business Today's MPW initiative has emerged as India's leading platform for honouring women who are shaping the future of business, with a focus on gender equity, workplace safety, and inclusivity.
Since its inception in 2003, the MPW in Business awards have become a powerful forum for celebrating women leaders, offering a platform for influential voices to advocate for change and share insights into their journeys.
The chief guest for the event was Piyush Goyal.

Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Earn Nominations for 67th Grammy Awards

Ricky Kej and Anoushka Shankar are among the Indians nominated for the 67th Grammy Awards.
Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, earned his fourth nomination for "Break of Dawn" in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category, as announced by the Recording Academy.
The category, which includes albums featuring more than 75 per cent new vocal or instrumental new age recordings, also features Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn by sitarist and composer Shankar.
Other nominees in this category are "Warriors of Light" by Radhika Vekaria and "Triveni" by entrepreneur and musician Chandrika Tandon, created in collaboration with flautist Wouter Kellerman and cellist Eru Matsumoto.
The 2025 Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place in February 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Anil Pradhan Wins Rohini Nayyar Prize

Anil Pradhan, co-founder of Young Tinker Foundation, a non-profit organisation working on hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education in underserved areas, was awarded the third Rohini Nayyar Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Rural Development.
The prize has been instituted in the memory of Rohini Nayyar by her family. Nayyar, an economist, served as an IAS officer in the Uttar Pradesh cadre, and worked with the erstwhile Planning Commission of India from 1987 to 2005. She passed away in 2021.
The prize, comprising a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh, a citation and trophy, is given annually by the Nayyar Foundation for Social and Economic Purpose, and is meant for individuals below 40 years in age.

Chiranjeevi Honoured With the Prestigious Award by Amitabh Bachchan

South star Chiranjeevi was honoured with the prestigious Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) National Award in Hyderabad. The actor was felicitated by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. The Akkineni International Foundation established the award in 2005 to recognise artists for their outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.
This year (2024), the event commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of Telugu cinema legend and actor Nagarjuna's father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Honoured with Fiji's Highest Civilian Award

The Republic of Fiji bestowed its highest civilian award, the 'Honourary Officer of the Order of Fiji,' on Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. This recognition, presented by Fiji's President, Ratu Wiliame M. Katonivere, acknowledges Ravishankar's contributions to promoting peace, unity, and uplifting communities globally.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of The Art of Living Foundation, has also received top civilian honours from five other countries, recognising his global humanitarian impact. Established in 1981, The Art of Living focuses on initiatives in mental health, education, environment, and empowerment and now operates in over 180 countries.
