International Dog Day 2022 Celebrates on 26th August

'International Dog Day' is celebrated annually on August 26 to promote the adoption of dogs instead of buying them from pet shops.
The day was founded by Animal Welfare Advocate and Pet Lifestyle expert Collen Paige. The aim of promoting this day is to raise awareness about adopting these animals who are currently in rescue centres.
On this day promote dog ownership of all breeds, pure and mixed. Embrace National Dog Day as an opportunity for all dogs to live a safe, happy and abuse-free life.

Internaut Day Celebrates Ever Year on 23 August

  • Internaut Day is being celebrated around the world to mark the invention of the World Wide Web. An "internaut" is a person who possesses a thorough knowledge of how to use the Internet and its history.
  • August 23 marks the day when the World Wide Web was opened to the public back in the year 1991 for the first time by WWW inventor Tim Berners Lee as he allowed its access, CERN announced that the internet would be free to everyone and there would be no fee for its use.

World Mosquito Day observed on August 20

  • The World Mosquito Day is marked annually on August 20 to raise awareness of the dangers of malaria-carrying mosquitoes and throw a spotlight on ongoing efforts in the fight against the world's deadliest creature. The global day commemorates the 1897 discovery by British doctor Sir Ronald Ross that female Anopheles mosquitoes transmit malaria between humans and this year, the theme is "Harness innovation to reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives."
