Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year. On this festive occasion, friends and families come together to say thanks and recognise the blessings and sacrifices of the past year. This American festival has many legends and rituals linked to its name.
The annual celebrations honour the first Thanksgiving feast hosted by the colonists in Massachusetts' Plymouth, later called the Pilgrims, and the Wampanoag Indians.
On 3 October 1863, President Abraham Lincoln had proclaimed a national day of Thanksgiving to be celebrated in November. The holiday was annually proclaimed by every President after that. However, after Congress' joint resolution in 1941, President Franklin D Roosevelt issued a proclamation in 1942 designating the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day.

World Television Day
World Television Day is observed on November 21 every year. It is a day that recognises the value and impact of television in our lives. We all know television plays a crucial role in society and in an individual's life. It is our daily source of entertainment and information.
On 21st November and 22nd November 1996, the U.N. held the first World Television Forum. It provides a platform and allowed the media to discuss the importance of TV in delivering information and also how it participates in the changing world. It is the single largest source of video consumption.
Therefore, UN General Assembly on 17th December 1996 through resolution 51/205 established 21st November as World Television Day to commemorate the date on which World Television Forum was held. It was done by seeing the impact of Television on the process of decision-making. Television is a major tool and so acknowledged for informing, channelling, and affecting public opinion. We can't deny its impact on world politics, i.e. the way it influences world politics.

International Men's Day
November 19 every year is celebrated around the world as International Men's Day to acknowledge the contributions of men to their families, communities and society. Since 1960s, there were calls to establish International Men's Day. The intention was not to compete against International Women's Day which was conceived in 1910, but for the purpose of highlighting men's experiences and ending gender stereotyping and discrimination.
International Men's Day didn't gain popularity abroad until Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, a Professor of History at the University of the West Indies established IMD in 1999. He chose November 19 as IMD to commemorate the birth anniversary of his father. He urged people to take advantage of this day by bringing up issues concerning boys and men.
The theme for International Men's Day 2022 was "Helping Men and Boys".
