Theme of India Mobile Congress 2026 unveiled

The theme for India Mobile Congress 2026 is Scale without Boundaries. The event will run from 7 to 10 October 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. IMC is regarded as Asia’s largest digital technology forum, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, and users to explore next‑generation networks, digital services, and consumer technologies. The theme reflects India’s ambition to expand technology, innovation, and connectivity across sectors and communities. The conference is expected to showcase advances in 5G/6G, digital payments, and smart city initiatives, contributing to national efforts to broaden digital access and skills development.

Kerala teams with IIT Ropar on ANNAM.AI weather stations

Kerala partnered with IIT Ropar to deploy AI-powered smart weather stations called ANNAM.AI as part of the state’s 100-day action plan announced in July 2026. The stations collect real-time data on rainfall, temperature, humidity, wind speed and soil conditions, transmitting it to a central dashboard used by farmers. Officials say the system will deliver region-specific forecasts and climate-smart recommendations to support timely sowing, irrigation and crop protection decisions. The project aims to reduce crop losses, boost farm income, and promote data-driven farming. Data privacy and farmer consent are highlighted, with strict access controls and local data storage.

AstraZeneca India to establish Genomic Solutions Centre in Amaravati

AstraZeneca India announced the Integrated Genomic Solutions Centre in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, in July 2026 as part of India's first Integrated Precision Oncology programme. The centre will offer advanced genomic testing, bioinformatics support and research aimed at improving cancer diagnosis and personalized treatment. It will collaborate with regional hospitals, academic institutions and industry partners to accelerate precision medicine, including genomics-guided drug selection and companion diagnostics. Officials say the centre will help local patients access cutting-edge testing and enable participation in clinical trials that tailor therapies to individual tumor profiles. HCLTech to Establish AI Data Centre in Odisha

HCLTech announced that it would establish its first AI Data Centre at the Odisha Sovereign AI Park in Bhubaneswar, in partnership with Sarvam AI and the Government of Odisha. The project is part of a proposed sovereign artificial intelligence investment of ₹15,000 crore, aimed at strengthening India’s indigenous AI infrastructure and digital capabilities. The facility will focus on data processing, AI research, and enterprise solutions for public and private sector partners. Odisha seeks to position itself as a hub for AI investment, creating skilled jobs and boosting regional innovation. The venture aligns with national priorities for digital sovereignty and technology-led growth.

International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026 to Be Held in Jodhpur

Jodhpur will host the International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026 from 30 July to 1 August 2026. The summit will address Type 1 diabetes care, treatment, and awareness. It was unveiled at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on 23 July 2026. Organisers include The Friends of Mewar, Breakthrough T1D, and the William J. Clinton Foundation. Attendees will include clinicians, researchers, patient advocates, policymakers, and industry representatives. The conference aims to advance treatment guidelines, improve access to insulin and monitoring technologies, and promote early diagnosis through education and outreach. The event reflects India’s growing role in global health partnerships.

Digital India RISC-V Symposium 2026 to be held at IIT Madras Research Park

IIT Madras will host the Digital India RISC-V Symposium 2026 on 1–2 August 2026 at the IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The event is organized with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and RISC-V International. It aims to advance open-source hardware and semiconductor innovation under the theme ‘Empowering Bharat’s Semiconductor Future.’ Participants from academia and industry will discuss RISC-V ecosystem growth, design software, security considerations and domestic chip research.
