Mrunal Thakur to Receive Diversity Cinema Award at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

Actress Mrunal Thakur is set to receive the Diversity in Cinema Award at the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), the organisers announced. The Sita Ramam star will be honoured with the award in recognition of her outstanding performances across diverse roles and languages in the world of Indian cinema.
The actress, who made her film with Love Sonia, and then featured in movies such Super 30, Toofan, Jersey, will receive the award during the annual gala night on August 11 in the Australian city.
The 14th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will run from August 11 to 20.

Manoj Bajpayee Wins Best Actor Award for Joram at Durban International Film Festival

Manoj Bajpayee created history at the 44th Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) by becoming the first Indian actor to win the Best Actor award. His outstanding performance in the movie 'Joram' was recognized as exceptional, setting a milestone in Indian cinema. This achievement has elevated Indian talent to new heights on the global stage, solidifying his place in the golden books of international cinema.
Established in 1972, DIFF is among the oldest and most respected film festivals worldwide, known for celebrating the diversity and richness of global cinema. This year (2023), DIFF hosted 90 films from 54 countries, reflecting a broad spectrum of cinematic brilliance. Amidst this exceptional array, Joram, directed by Devashish Makhija, won two awards, the coveted Best Actor accolade for Bajpayee and best cinematography for Piyush Putty.

Professors Pradhan, Mehta Awarded GD Birla Award for Scientific Research

Professors Narayan Pradhan and Neelesh B. Mehta were awarded the GD Birla Award for Scientific Research for their contributions in material sciences and wireless communication respectively. The awards were presented by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who praised the scientists for their role in India's progress in science and technology. The GD Birla Award for Scientific Research recognizes high-calibre scientific research in India. Pradhan's work focuses on next-gen photovoltaic cells for solar energy generation, while Mehta's research is centered around wireless communication systems, including the possibilities of 6G.
Professor Narayan Pradhan from the Indian Association for the Cultivation Sciences, Jadavpur and Professor Neelesh B Mehta from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore received the prestigious GD Birla Award for Scientific Research for 2021 and 2022 respectively, for their exemplary contributions in the fields of material sciences and wireless communication.
The GD Birla Award for Scientific Research, which was instituted in 1991 by the KK Birla Foundation, aims to recognise high-calibre scientific research being carried out by Indian scientists across the country.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh. The recipient is chosen by a selection board.

Deepak Shenoy Honoured with Global Visionary Entrepreneur Award

Deepak Shenoy, Managing Director, Medec Dragon Pvt Ltd was honoured with "Global Visionary Entrepreneur of the year 2023" at the 6th Edition of South Asia Pacific Healthcare Summit & Business Award 2023 organised by Brandscouncil Ratings & Medilinks at Hotel Radisson in Mumbai, India.
Earlier this year, Medec Dragon Pvt. was awarded the most prestigious and coveted "Most Promising Company in Corporate Governance 2023" at the ASSOCHAM's national seminar organized under the theme Healthcare 5.0: Enhancing Healthcare Capabilities and Leadership Excellence Awards on April 19, 2023, in Kolkata. It also received the Golden Pinnacle Award for "Most Promising Company in Corporate Governance and Sustainability Vision Award 2003" in Dubai.

Ratan Tata to get Maharashtra Govt's First 'Udyog Ratna' Award

The Maharashtra government decided to honour Ratan Tata, the Chairman emeritus of the Tata group, with the first esteemed Maharashtra Udyog Ratna Award. This significant recognition was announced by the state Industries Minister, Uday Samant, during a session at the State Legislative Assembly.
Following the tradition of the Maharashtra Bhushan award, which is the highest state honour presented to distinguished individuals, the Maharashtra government introduced the prestigious Udyog Ratna Award starting this year (2023). Tata will be the inaugural recipient of this award.
