Hindustan Shipyard Limited's CMD Honoured with 'PSU Samarpan Award' for Exemplary Leadership

In a distinguished accolade for Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Hemant Khatri, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), was conferred with the prestigious 'PSU Samarpan Award'. The honour was bestowed upon him by Gov Connect at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
The 'PSU Samarpan Award', an initiative by ilouge Media, stands as a testament to Khatri's exceptional leadership, driving the transformative journey of the shipyard and serving as an inspiration to numerous individuals within the industry.
This esteemed award recognises the commendable contributions of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to the advancement of the nation. Commodore Khatri was bestowed with this honor in the 'Other PSU' category, sharing the spotlight with eminent CPSEs such as Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and IRCON International Ltd in the Navratna category, and several others including Braithwaite & Co Ltd, Bridge & Roof Company (India) Ltd, HSCC (India) Ltd, KIOCL Ltd, Instruments Ltd, Consultants India Ltd, and WAPCOS in the Miniratna category.

Putin Critic Alexei Navalny Awarded Dresden Peace Prize Posthumously

Russia's most prominent opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died on February 16 under mysterious circumstances, received the Dresden Peace Prize.
The award was received by Navalny's wife Yulia Navalnaya during a ceremony, where former German President Joachim Gauck delivered the laudatory speech.
The Friends of Dresden have been awarding the Dresden Prize on the anniversary of the city's destruction in World War II since 2010. It is awarded to those individuals who have made a special contribution to peace and international understanding.

Author Ruskin Bond Receives Sahitya Akademi Fellowship

Eminent English author Ruskin Bond was awarded the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Fellowship at his Mussoorie home.
Bond was named a recipient of Akademi's highest honour in September 2021. However, due to his ill health, he could not be given the honour in person.
Bond has been actively writing for more than 50 years and has written in various genres of literature, including short stories, children's books, novels, autobiographical works and non-fiction.

President of India Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Shri award upon Pran Sabharwal, a stalwart socio-theatre activist and director of the Patiala-based National Theatre Arts Society. The event, held in Rashtrapati Bhawan, marked a poignant recognition of Sabharwal's illustrious career spanning over seven decades.
Pran Sabharwal stands as a beacon of dedication to the arts, boasting an impressive repertoire of over 5,000 performances.

Pawan Sindhi Honoured with Global Pride of Sindhi Award 2024

Pawan Sindhi was bestowed with the prestigious Global Pride of Sindhi Award 2024 at an event attended by esteemed saints, mahatmas, and sadhus. The occasion celebrated Mr. Sindhi's remarkable contributions to society and his dedication to serving humanity.
In his heartfelt address, Mr. Sindhi extended his thanks to Gurumukh ji and Raju Manwani for their guidance and support throughout his journey. He also expressed his gratitude to the press for their continuous support in highlighting his social work and deeds. Lastly, he thanked society and all those who have stood by him, acknowledging their contributions to his commendable journey.

Oxford Bookstores Honours Excellence in Book Design and Visual Arts

Oxford Bookstores announced Bhavi Mehta as the winner of the 9th edition of the Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Prize. Mehta's winning entry was the book jacket for "The Book Beautiful" published by Hachette India and authored by Pradeep Sebastian.
In addition to the Book Cover Prize, the evening also witnessed the announcement of the longlist for the second Oxford Bookstore Art Book Prize. This prestigious prize, instituted in collaboration with Visual Arts Gallery in 2022, recognizes the value of art in all genres under the umbrella of an art publication.
The 13 longlisted titles were recognized for their quality of artistic composition and overall design by a dedicated jury panel, which includes esteemed members such as Dr. Alka Pande, H.E. Ms. May-Elin Stener, Ms. Priti Paul, Mr. Anjani Kumar Singh, and Ms. Sunaina Anand.
The Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Prize and Art Book Prize serve as platforms to honour and promote artistic excellence in the realms of book design and visual arts. By recognizing and celebrating the outstanding work of designers, artists, and publishers, these initiatives aim to foster creativity, innovation, and appreciation for the intrinsic value of visual narratives.
