Army Chief presents Prestigious 'President's Colours' to 4 Armoured Regiments
The Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande presented the prestigious 'President's Colours' or 'Rashtrapati ka Nishan' to four armoured regiments of the Indian Army. The President's colours were presented to the 49 Armoured Regiment, 51 Armoured Regiment, 53 Armoured Regiment and 54 Armoured Regiment during an impressive 'Rashtrapati ka Nishan' presentation parade held at Suratgarh Military Station, Rajasthan.
The Chief of Army Staff reviewed the 'Nishan' presentation parade and appreciated the rich heritage of valour, sacrifice and traditions displayed by the Armored Corps in war and peace.

Defence Ministry Signs Contract Worth Rs. 3700 crore with BEL
The defence ministry signed two contracts worth over Rs. 3,700 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for radars and receivers, which will enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
The first contract worth over Rs. 2,800 crore pertains to the supply of Medium Power Radars (MPR) 'Arudhra' for the IAF, and the second, at an overall cost of around Rs. 950 crore, relates to 129 DR-118 Radar Warning Receivers (RWR).
Both projects are under 'Buy Indian-IDMM (Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured)' category. The projects are aimed at enhancing surveillance, detection, tracking and electronic warfare capabilities of the air force.

Army, Air Force Conduct Joint Multi-domain Air-land Exercise Vayu Prahar
The Indian Army and the Indian Air force conducted a multi-domain air-land exercise 'Vayu Prahar' in the eastern theatre to validate plans to execute synergised operations.
As per report, the scope of the joint exercise included rapid mobilisation of an earmarked rapid reaction force from the hinterland to undertake air-landed operations at a nominated advance landing ground.
"The conduct of Exercise Vayu Prahar enabled coordination and rehearsal amongst various agencies for quick mobilisation, transportation and deployment of forces within a theatre which can be executed across theatres.

India, UK Hold Annual Bilateral Maritime Exercise 'Konkan' in Arabian Sea
The annual bilateral maritime exercise between the Indian Navy and UK's Royal Navy was held off the Konkan coast in the Arabian Sea from March 20-22.
INS Trishul, a guided missile frigate, and HMS Lancaster, a Type 23 guided missile frigate, participated in 'Konkan 2023' and undertook multiple maritime drills to enhance interoperability and imbibe best practices.
The exercises covered all domains of maritime operations, air, surface and sub-surface, and included gunnery shoots on surface inflatable target Killer Tomato', helicopter operations, anti-air and anti-submarine warfare drills, Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS), ship manoeuvres and exchange of personnel.

Bangladesh Commissions its First Submarine Base 'BNS Sheikh Hasina'
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the first submarine base of Bangladesh 'BNS Sheikh Hasina' at Pekua in Cox's Bazar. Hailing the newly inaugurated naval base as an 'ultra modern submarine base', Prime Minister called the event a proud chapter in the history of Bangladesh navy.
Prime Minister Hasina said that her government has been working on 'Forces Goal 2030' to transform its military force into a modern organisation suitable for the times.
The Government of Bangladesh had signed an agreement with China in September 2019 for the construction of the submarine base.
Paras Defence Bags Order from CSIR
The Aerospace and defence company Paras Defence secured an order around Rs. 64 crore for Avionics Suite for Saras MK-2 Aircraft from Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR)- National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL).
Saras is the first Indian multi-purpose civilian aircraft in the light transport aircraft category as designed by the CSIR-NAL.
Avionics Suite of Saras MK - 2 Aircraft is the complete glass cockpit of the aircraft, including all the equipment related to control, monitoring, communication, navigation, weather and anti-collision systems along with auto-pilot system.
Paras Defence and Space Technologies offers high precision products and turnkey solutions to the defense and space sector, operating in three main verticals - defence and space optics, defence electronics solutions, and heavy engineering.
Second Anti-submarine Warfare Craft Launched in Kolkata
The second anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft (ASW SWC) named INS Androth was launched at Garden Reach Ship Builders in Kolkata.
It is used to protect the coastal low draft region wherever they are deployed. The first one Arnala was launched last year.
The primary role of the ASW SWC is to conduct anti-submarine operations in coastal waters, Low Intensity Maritime Operations (LIMO) and mine laying operations. These ships are also capable of full-scale sub surface surveillance of coastal waters and various surface platforms and coordinated ASW operations with aircraft.
