UP Govt Honourd Dr. Ritu and Naveen with 'UP Gaurav Samman'

Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh announced the prestigious 'UP Gaurav Samman' award for two distinguished personalities – eminent scientist Dr. Ritu and renowned entrepreneur Naveen. This award highlights the government's commitment to acknowledging excellence and inspiring future generations.
Dr. Ritu, whose groundbreaking work in the field of science gained national and international recognition, received this honour for her significant contributions to scientific research and innovation. With a career spanning several years, Dr. Ritu has been at the forefront of scientific discovery, specializing in areas that have had a profound impact on society.
Naveen, a name synonymous with entrepreneurial success, has transformed the landscape of business with his innovative ideas and leadership skills. Starting from humble beginnings, Naveen has built a business empire that not only generates substantial economic value but also creates numerous job opportunities.

Former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur Awarded Bharat Ratna Posthumously

Former Bihar Chief Minister, Karpoori Thakur, was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, the nation's highest civilian award. This recognition is a significant acknowledgement of Thakur's contributions to Indian politics and social reform.
Karpoori Thakur, born in January 1924, was a prominent figure in Bihar's political landscape. Known for his deep connection with the backward classes, Thakur's political journey was marked by his steadfast commitment to social justice. He served as Bihar's Chief Minister twice, first from December 1970 to June 1971 and again from December 1977 to April 1979.
Thakur was a strong advocate for the underprivileged, championing the cause of the socially and economically marginalised sections of society. His tenure as Chief Minister was notable for implementing progressive policies, including land reforms and initiatives aimed at the uplifting of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

BCCI Awards: Ex-coach Ravi Shastri Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Ravi Shastri, India's 1983 World Cup-winning member, and the former national head coach, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award in the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) Awards). With this, the former all-rounder joined his ex-teammates Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Syed Kirmani, and Kris Srikkanth amongst others in receiving the C. K. Nayudu Award for lifetime achievement.
Shubman Gill received the Polly Umrigar award for the best men's cricketer of the year for 2023. Jasprit Bumrah won the honour in 2019, a year after making his Test debut. Gill scored 2154 runs in international cricket, most by any batter in 2023. He hit 7 hundreds, including an ODI double hundred and his maiden T20I century.
The awards were first given in 2006–07. The C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award was first presented in 1994. It is the highest honour bestowed by BCCI on a former player and is considered as one of the most prestigious awards in cricket.

Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 was declared, and the awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a formal event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
This year (2024), 19 children from various parts of the country were recognised for their outstanding accomplishments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the recipients.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees include one child each in the fields of Bravery, Science & Technology, and Innovation; four in Social Service; five in Sports; and seven in Art and Culture. The group, as per the Ministry's release, consisted of 9 boys and 10 girls from 18 different States and Union Territories.

Karnataka - Sports, Jesicca Neyi Saring Arunachal Pradesh - Sports, Linthoi Chanambam Manipur - Sports and R. Surya Prasad Andhra Pradesh - Sports.

Skyways Air Services Wins Best Cargo Services Award at Wings India Awards

Skyways Air Services Pvt Ltd was awarded for its outstanding cargo services at the prestigious Wings India Awards held in Hyderabad. This recognition is a testament to Skyways Air Services' commitment to excellence in the aviation cargo sector.

The event also honoured various other entities in different categories, including the best airports, airlines, and service providers. Gianni Infantino Honoured With Sports Personality Award in Dubai

In a glittering ceremony at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Awards, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was bestowed with the prestigious International Sports Personality of the Year award. The event, inspired by the love of sport exhibited by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has been recognising outstanding achievements in the realm of sports since its inception in 2009.
Established in 2009, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Awards have evolved over the past decade. Initially focused on domestic achievements, the awards opened up to international recipients in 2012. Today, the International Sports Personality of the Year stands as the pinnacle of recognition for global figures who contribute significantly to the development and fairness of sports.

Lesley Lokko Wins Royal Gold Medal

Ghanaian-Scottish architect and educator Lesley Lokko was named the recipient the 2024 Royal Gold Medal by the Royal Institute of British Architects, making her the first African woman to win the award.
Lokko, who is also an educator and curator, is the third woman to receive the prestigious accolade in her own right – rather than as part of a team – since it was established in 1848. The others are architects Zaha Hadid and Yasmeen Lari.
As per the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Lokko was selected for relentlessly pursuing inclusivity and equity in the field.

Assam Baibhav Award for Ex-CJI Ranjan Gogoi

The Assam government named Member of Parliament and former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi as recipient of the Assam Baibhav award, the state's highest civilian honour. He was credited for playing a part in the establishment of the Ram temple in Ayodhya through the apex court judgment delivered under his leadership as CJI.
