Exercise Teesta Prahar

  • Exercise Teesta Prahar was military field exercise conducted by the Indian Army. It took place at the Teesta Field Firing Range in West Bengal. The exercise aimed to validate the operational readiness of various combat and support elements in challenging riverine terrain. It brought into light the Indian Army's commitment to modernisation and joint force integration.
  • Teesta Prahar involved multiple branches of the Indian Army, including Infantry, Artillery, Armoured Corps, Mechanised Infantry, Para Special Forces, Army Aviation, Engineers, and Signals. The exercise simulated realistic battlefield conditions to test the effectiveness of integrated operations. It served as a platform to demonstrate the Army's preparedness for diverse combat scenarios.

AVNL and BEL Forge Partnership for Next-Generation Electronic System in Wheeled Armour Vehicles

  • In a significant step toward bolstering India's indigenous defence capabilities, Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) signed a teaming agreement to jointly develop advanced electronic devices for wheeled armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs). The agreement, formalised marks a deepening collaboration between two of India's premier defence public sector undertakings (PSUs), aligning with the nation's Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and Make in India initiatives. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of BEL, Sanjay Dwivedi, CMD ofAVNL, Satyabrata Mukherjee, Director (Operations) ofAVNL, and senior officers from both organisations.

DST and DRDO Join Hands to Strengthen India's Space Surveillance

  • In a move to enhance India's space surveillance capabilities, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) entered into a strategic partnership. The agreement was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, and Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun. This collaboration aims to strengthen India's ground-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA) through the joint use of cutting-edge observational facilities and research expertise.

India Successfully Tests Home-grown 'Bhargavastra' Counter-Swarm Drone System

  • India successfully tested the new low-cost counter swarm drone system, 'Bhargavastra' developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL). The counter-drone system was successfully tested at the Seaward Firing Range in Gopalpur, Odisha.
  • Bhargavastra operates in hard kill mode and can detect and eliminate small and incoming drones at distances of up to 2.5 km.

Aerolloy Technologies Inaugurated India's Largest Single-site Titanium and Superalloy Plant

  • In a landmark achievement for India's defense and aerospace sectors, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, inaugurated the world's largest single-site titanium and superalloy materials plant at the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC). The event, graced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also saw the foundation stones laid for seven additional state-of-the-art facilities under India's first Strategic Materials Technology Complex.
  • This milestone positions India among an elite group of nations capable of producing aerospace-grade strategic materials, significantly reducing reliance on costly imports and reinforcing the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) vision.
  • Spanning 50 acres, the newly inaugurated titanium and superalloy plant boasts an annual capacity of 6,000 tonnes, making it the largest single-site titanium remelting facility globally.
  • The facility addresses India's longstanding dependence on imported defense-grade materials, which currently cost Rs. 14,000 crore annually and are projected to rise to Rs. 35,000 crore by 2026.
