Arunachal CM Launches New Logo for Eaglenest Bird Festival
The 4th edition of the Eaglenest Bird Festival, a celebrated event in Arunachal Pradesh, is set to be held from January 17 to 19, 2025, at Khellong and Thongre village in West Kameng District. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, unveiled the new logo for the festival, marking its prominence on the state's calendar of events. The festival celebrates the region's unique biodiversity, and it also plays an essential role in promoting sustainable eco-tourism and community-driven conservation efforts.
The festival will include the inauguration of the Eco Bio-Diversity Park, which will become home to a tree planted by His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his visit in 1959.

Kolkata International Film Festival Announces France as Focus Country
The 30th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) slated to be held from December 4 to 11 will celebrate the rich tapestry of international cinema, with a special focus on French cinema. The festival will showcase a diverse range of 175 films from 41 countries.

World's Oldest Alphabet Writings Discovered in Syria, Archaeologists Claim
US researchers discovered what appears to be the oldest known alphabetic writing in the world, after finding finger-length clay cylinders from a tomb in Syria with the etched details. Using carbon-14 dating techniques, the researchers at John Hopkins University determined that the cylinders were made around 2400 B.C.E., which makes them around 500 years older than any other known alphabetic scripts. Alongside the writings, the researchers discovered early Bronze Age tombs, including a well-preserved grave with six burials inside.
