The event also saw the launch of the 'Gyan Bharatam Mission,' aimed at expanding access to India's vast knowledge repository.

The 51st Khajuraho Dance Festival 2025: A Celebration of Classical Art and Heritage

The Khajuraho Dance Festival, an annual cultural extravaganza, was held from February 20 to 26, 2025. Organised by the Department of Culture, Madhya Pradesh, with support from Madhya Pradesh Tourism, this festival has been a beacon of classical dance since its inception in 1975. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Khajuraho Group of Temples, this event not only celebrates India's rich cultural heritage but also fosters innovation in classical dance while preserving its traditional essence. This year's (2025) festival, marking its 51st edition, promises an immersive experience with record-breaking dance performances, heritage tours, craft exhibitions, culinary delights, adventure activities, and much more.

Mising Tribe Celebrates Ali Ai Ligang Festival

The Mising tribe, one of Assam's largest indigenous communities, celebrated the Ali Ai Ligang festival, a significant cultural and agricultural event. The festival marks the beginning of the sowing season. It is deeply connected to the agricultural traditions of the Mising people, who primarily depend on farming for their livelihood.
Ali Ai Ligang is an important festival for the Mising community, symbolizing the start of a new agricultural cycle. The name itself reflects its meaning—"Ali Ai" refers to seeds, and "Ligang" means sowing. This festival represents the close bond between the Mising people and their land, reinforcing their dependence on agriculture for survival.

Hyderabad Hosts International Art Exhibition

Art lovers in Hyderabad are in for a visual treat as Srishti Art Gallery and Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad came together presenting an international art exhibition titled "Topographies of Tents, Terracotta, and Time." This unique cross-cultural exhibition showcases the works of renowned international and national artists exploring deep themes of identity, displacement, and transformation.
Curated by Matthew Partridge, the event features three distinguished artists: Arnaldo Drés González (Venezuela/Germany), Sudhakar Chippa (India) and Swen Kählert (Germany).
These artists have created a fusion of materials, styles, and interpretations that reflect their personal journeys and societal themes. The exhibition highlights the ever-changing relationship between place and identity.
The exhibition is open from February 23 to March 2, 2025.

Jitendra Singh Inaugurates India's First 'Open-Air Art Wall Museum'

India's first 'Open Air Art Wall Museum' was inaugurated by Union Minister Jitendra Singh at Mausam Bhawan in the national capital, commemorating the 150-year milestone of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Developed in collaboration with 'Delhi Street Art', this unique initiative transforms the walls of IMD's Lodhi Road headquarters into a vibrant narrative of India's meteorological advancements and its impact on society. Minister Singh applauded IMD's enduring contribution to socio-economic development through accurate weather forecasts, emphasising the department's role in addressing dynamic climate challenges with cutting-edge technology.
The art showcase features 38 distinct murals reflecting India's meteorological history, the evolution of weather forecasting, and its effects on agriculture, disaster management, and daily life.
