Maharashtra has Maximum Beneficiaries under Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana

As per Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Rameshwar Teli, funds disbursed under Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY) amounts to 11 per cent of Rs. 2612 crore of Rs. 22810, which was targeted to be spent till March 31, 2024.
Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana was rolled out during the covid-19 pandemic for generating jobs.
Maharastra topped the list of states with highest number of beneficiaries.
Maharashtra is followed by Gujarat, and Karnataka.
This scheme was launched in October 2020 as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat package 3.0.
It was launched to incentivise employers and provide them social security benefits and restore the loss of employment amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Under the scheme, central government reimburses 24-12 per cent for employees as well as employers for two years, for all new formal jobs which were created in enterprises with up to 1,000 employees.
This scheme is applicable for employees, who are earning less than Rs. 15,000 in a month.
The scheme also extended benefits to the workers who had lost jobs during covid pandemic, during March 1, 2020 to September 30.

Lok Sabha passes Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Bill 2021 and Delhi Special Police Esta...

The Lok Sabha passed the Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Bill 2021 and the Delhi Special Police Establishment (Amendment) Bill, 2021 together.
These Bills seek to replace the two ordinances on the subject promulgated on 14th November this year. The object of the amendments is to cap the tenure of the Directors of the CBI and the Enforcement at five years.
Replying to the discussion, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Bill brings stability in the investigation agencies.
He said, certain cases, especially the money laundering incidents have international ramifications. Referring to the urgency behind the Bill, the Minister said, Financial Action Task Force, FATF, suggested law enforcing authorities and the Governments to upgrade their capabilities in regard with standards and confidentiality.
He said, since several democratic countries have no fixation period, the Government drew the average of Five years tenure to rise at part with global standards before the next review by the FATF. Dr Jitendra Sing said, the move is necessary for the country to have a corruption free image.

Lok Sabha Passes Bills to extend CBI, ED Directors' Tenures up to Maximum 5 years

Two bills were passed by Lok Sabha to extend the tenures of directors of the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate up to a maximum of five years from the present two years.
The Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and the Delhi Special Police Establishment (Amendment) Bill, 2021 were passed separately by voice vote after the House rejected various amendments moved by Opposition members on the two bills.
- Congress MPs walked out of the House, saying they were not satisfied with the reply of Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh.

NIPER Bill passed

Parliament passed the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Amendment) Bill to accord the status of 'institute of national importance' to six more institutes of pharmaceutical education and research, and also set up an advisory council for them. Rajya Sabha passed the Bill unanimously by a voice vote.
The Bill seeks to give the coveted 'institute of national importance' status to pharmaceutical education and research institutes – NIPERs – situated in Ahmedabad, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati and Raebareli.
The Bill also envisages establishment of a Council, a central body, to coordinate the activities of all the institutes to ensure coordinated development of pharmaceutical education and research and maintenance of standards.

Lok Sabha to take up Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill today for consid...

The Lok Sabha is scheduled to take up the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021 for consideration and passing.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the Bill to further amend the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Rajya Sabha Passes Bill for Regulation of Practice and Process of Surrogacy

The parliament passed a bill to regulate and supervise assisted reproductive technology clinics.
The Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill, 2021, which was passed by Lok Sabha on December 1, got the approval of Rajya Sabha with a voice vote.
The Upper House also passed The Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2020 with amendments. The proposed bill was earlier passed by Lok Sabha, but Rajya Sabha had referred it to a Select Committee. It will now go back to Lok Sabha for approval.

Cabinet Nod to Extension of Rural Housing Scheme

The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Rural) for another three years to provide financial assistance for the construction of the remaining 155.75 lakh houses under the scheme.
The continuation of the scheme till March 2024 would ensure that the remaining 155.75 lakh households within the overall target of 2.95 crore houses would be provided assistance for construction of pucca houses with basic amenities to achieve the objective of 'housing for all' in rural areas.
