Haryana government announced Matrushakti Udaymita Scheme to provide support to women entrepreneurs, on International Women's Day. Under the scheme, the women whose family annual income is less than 5 lakh rupees based on Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) verified data, will be provided access to soft loans by financial institutions to the extent of 3 lakh rupees. Subsequently, the interest subvention of 7% will also be provided for three years through the Haryana Women Development Corporation.
Government Launches Initiative to Push Start-ups in Water Sector
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched the 'India WaterPitch-Pilot-Scale Start-up Challenge', under which the government will select 100 start-ups and they will be provided with Rs. 20 lakh each as funding support as well as mentorship.
According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the new initiative aims at empowering start-ups in the water sector to grow through innovation and design that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate employment opportunities.
The initiative was launched at an event by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri under the ministry's Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
AMRUT 2.0 is a transformative and unique scheme, with a huge outlay of over Rs. 2.77 lakh crore. He said that the scheme will ensure water security in the country, reduce its transportation costs, reduce groundwater contamination, and increase water utilisation capacity.

Tripura Govt. Announces Special Scheme for Tea Workers
In an attempt to ensure social security of over 7,000 tea garden workers of Tripura, the state government announced a special scheme named "Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa".
The scheme assures housing, rations and financial support to the tea garden workers providing them with facilities of state and central government entitlements in a clubbed format.
A sum of Rs. 85 crore would be spent from the government's exchequer for the implementation of the scheme.

Chhattisgarh Government Launches 'Kaushalya Matritva Yojana'
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel introduced the 'Kaushalya Matritva Yojana' by handing out Rs. 5000 checks to five beneficiaries for safe motherhood.
On the birth of a second daughter, women recipients are eligible for a payment aid of Rs. 5,000 under this scheme. The programme would assist in the parenting and education of girls.
At the state level women's conference, the Chief Minister honoured Anganwadi employees who have done outstanding work in Anganwadi services, as well as self-help groups that have helped women become financially independent by utilising the Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh.

Ministry of Labour Launches 'Donate-a-Pension' Initiative
Union Labour and Employment Minister, Bhupender Yadav launched the 'Donate-a-Pension' campaign under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) scheme. Under the new initiative, citizens can contribute to the pension fund of their immediate support staff such as domestic workers, drivers, helpers etc, by donating the premium amount.
The 'Donate-a-Pension' program is part of various initiatives launched in the 'Iconic Week' celebrations by the Labour Ministry from March 7 to 13, 2022. It is an initiative under (PM-SYM) pension scheme where citizens can donate the premium contribution of their immediate support staff such as domestic workers, drivers, helpers etc.
Sikkim to Implement Aama Yojana and Bahini Scheme
The Sikkim government will give Rs. 20,000 each to all non-working mothers and free sanitary napkins to all girl students of class 9 and above in the state, Chief Minister P. S. Tamang said. Addressing a function at Melli, the CM announced that the state government will implement the 'Aama Yojna' for non-working mothers and Bahini scheme for girl students.
Under the 'Aama Yojna' scheme all non-working mothers in the state will receive Rs. 20,000 each annually in their bank accounts, Tamang said, adding that only those whose names are in the electoral roll of the state will get the money.
He said the scheme will be implemented from this year.

MSME Ministry Launches 'SAMARTH' Special Entrepreneurship Promotion Drive for Women
A day ahead of the International Women's Day, the MSME Ministry on Monday launched SAMARTH — a special entrepreneurship promotion drive for women.
Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Narayan Rane said that the MSME sector offers a plethora of opportunities for women.
He highlighted that the MSME Ministry, through its schemes and initiatives, is continuously making efforts to develop entrepreneurship culture among women by offering several additional benefits to them.
Rane announced that the drive would help women to be self-reliant and independent by providing them with self-employment opportunities.
Under SAMARTH, 20 per cent seats in free skill development programmes, organised under skill development schemes of the ministry, would be allocated for aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs.
