Maria, whose career has been a testament to dedication and resilience, was chosen for this award for her outstanding efforts in transforming the healthcare landscape, particularly in the Philippine Army Health Services and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Three BHU Professors Win CNR Rao Award for Excellence in Scientific Research
Three distinguished faculty members from the Institute of Science at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) were selected for the esteemed Professor CNR Rao Education Foundation Award for Excellence in Research for the academic years 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25. This prestigious award honours scientists for their outstanding contributions to Pure and Applied Sciences, encompassing disciplines like Basic Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering, and Technology.
According to BHU, Professor Bhabani Prasad Mandal, a senior professor in the Department of Physics, was chosen for the 2022-23 session. Professor Krishna Nand Singh, head of the Department of Chemistry, was chosen as the recipient for 2023-24.
The award for 2024-25 will go to Professor Pratyoosh Shukla, professor and coordinator of the School of Biotechnology. Recipients of the award are presented with a citation and a cash prize.

National Awards for Indian Cement Industry
The 18th NCB International Conference & Exhibition on Cement, Concrete, and Building Materials, concluded successfully at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, IICC Dwarka, New Delhi. Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Arti Bhatnagar, presented National Awards to the best participating cement plants in the field of energy excellence, improvement in energy performance, environment excellence, total quality excellence and achieving circular economy in integrated cement plants and energy and environment excellence in cement grinding units. She also complimented the Indian cement industry for being water positive and plastic negative.

Indian Chemical Council Honoured with 2024 OPCW-The Hague Award
The Indian Chemical Council (ICC) was awarded the prestigious 2024 OPCW-The Hague Award at the 29th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CSP) of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) held in The Hague. This is the first time that the award has been conferred upon a chemical industry body, marking a milestone in India's commitment to chemical safety and compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
The award was presented by Ambassador Fernando Arias (OPCW Director-General) and Mayor Jan van Zanen (Municipality of The Hague).
