Axis Bank Bags IFR Asia's Asian Bank of the Year and India Bond House Award

  • Axis Bank, India's third-largest private sector bank was awarded IFR Asia's Asian Bank of The Year 2021, for its breadth of coverage and depth of expertise in the Asian investment banking space. The award acknowledges the bank's outstanding performance in equity and debt issuance, across all major products and segments. Axis Bank was the only local house to serve as a global coordinator for the record Rs. 183 Bn Paytm IPO, and was also the global coordinator for Macrotech Developers' Rs. 25 Bn IPO.
  • Axis Bank is the third-largest private sector bank in India. Axis Bank offers the entire spectrum of services to customer segments covering Large and Mid-Corporates, SME, Agriculture and Retail Businesses. With its 4,700 domestic branches (including extension counters) and 11,060 ATMs across the country as on December 31, 2021, the network of Axis Bank spreads across 2,665 centers, enabling the Bank to reach out to a large cross-section of customers with an array of products and services. 75th BAFTA Award 2022 Announced

  • The 75th edition of the British Academy Film Awards, also known as the BAFTA Award, was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The awards, presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), honours the best national and foreign films of 2021. The ceremony was hosted by actress and comedian Rebel Wilson. The film that received maximum nominations was Dune, with 11 nominations.

  • Best Director: Jane Campion, The Power of the Dog
  • Best Actress in Leading Role: Joanna Scanlan, After Love
  • Best Actor in Leading Role: Will Smith, King Richard
  • British Academy Television Awards are presented annually to recognize the outstanding work in British Television. It is being given annually since 1955. It is mainly given to British programs.

Arun K. Shukla Conferred with the Khosla National Award 2021 (Sciences)

  • IIT Kanpur professor Arun K. Shukla, who studied under three Nobel laureates, was conferred with the Khosla National Award 2021 (Sciences) for his work in understanding the structure, function and modulation of G Protein-Coupled Receptors.
  • The award was presented by Prof. AK Chaturvedi, Director of IIT Roorkee.
  • Shukla received his Master's (MSc) in Biotechnology from the Center for Biotechnology at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
  • His research programme is focused on understanding the structure, function and regulation of G Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs), the largest family of cell surface receptors in the human genome and the target of about half of the currently available medicines.

'The Power of the Dog', 'CODA', 'Dune' Win Big at BAFTA-2022

  • The acclaimed Western film "The Power of the Dog" scooped the top prizes for best film and best director for Jane Campion at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) 2022.
  • Hosted by actor-comic Rebel Wilson, the award ceremony took place at the Royal Albert Hall.
  • "The Power of the Dog" star Benedict Cumberbatch accepted the award on the director's behalf. The psychological drama set in Campion's native New Zealand also won her the best film BAFTA, which producer Tanya Seghatachian collected.

Six Indian Airports Named the ACI World's ASQ Awards 2021

  • From India, six airports have found a place among the 'Best Airport by Size and Region', by the Airports Council International (ACI), in its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey for the year 2021. The airports have been adjudged among the Asia Pacific region in different categories based on annual passenger traffic. The ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards takes into account 33 parameters related to passenger amenities to recognize airport excellence in customer experience.
  • The six airports are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, Cochin International Airport, Cochin, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh Airport, Chandigarh.

Bangladeshi Rizwana Hasan to Get US International Women of Courage Award 2022

  • Bangladeshi environmental lawyer, Rizwana Hasan was selected for the International Women of Courage (IWOC) Award for 2022. She is among the 12 women from around the world who would be honoured by the US Department of State with the award for showing exceptional courage and leadership to make a difference in their communities. The awards ceremony on March 14 in a virtual ceremony to honour the 12 women selected for the award.

Haryana: Sushma Swaraj Award

  • Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar of Haryana while presenting the state budget announced a 'Sushma Swaraj Award' for women for their significant achievements or contribution in different walks of life in the international and national spheres.
  • The Sushma Swaraj Award would carry an award money of Rs. 5 lakh along with a commendation.
  • Sushma Swaraj was a lawyer of the Supreme Court as well as an Indian politician. She was a senior member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, served as India's Minister of External Affairs during the first Narendra Modi government (2014–2019). After Indira Gandhi, she was the second woman to occupy this position. She was elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of Legislative Assembly. In 1977, at the age of 25, she became the youngest cabinet minister in the state of Haryana. She also served as Delhi's 5th Chief Minister for a brief period in 1998, and also became the city's first female Chief Minister.
