International Translation Day

Every year on September 30, International Translation Day is observed to honour the invaluable contributions of translators and language specialists worldwide. This day is dedicated to recognising the achievements of these professionals who promote international communication, understanding, and collaboration. By facilitating dialogue and fostering mutual comprehension, translators play a crucial role in advancing and strengthening global peace and security. The aim of this special day is to inspire translators to continue their remarkable work.
On May 24, 2017, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution that led to the establishment of this day. Eleven countries signed the resolution, recognising the significance of the work carried out by language specialists.
The theme for 2024 International Translation Day is 'Translation, an Art Worth Protecting: Moral and Material Rights for Indigenous Languages.'

World Heart Day

On September 29 the world unites to mark World Heart Day, an annual event with a critical message about the significance of heart health. According to the World Heart Federation (WHF), cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the foremost global cause of mortality.
In the year 2000, World Heart Day was established in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) to create a day dedicated to raising awareness and mobilizing global action against cardiovascular diseases. In 2011, World Heart Day became an annual event, cementing its importance in the global health calendar.

World Rabies Day

The first World Rabies Day was commemorated in 2007, which is led by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC). European Day of Languages

Every year since 2001 the European Day of Languages marked on September 26 celebrates the wealth of languages coexisting in Europe and beyond. World Environmental Health Day

World Environmental Health Day is observed annually on September 26. The day highlights the significance of fostering a safe and healthy environment, tackling key issues such as clean air, water, sanitation, pollution control, and waste management. It serves as a reminder that the health of our planet is closely tied to our well-being, and neglecting environmental protection endangers both nature and ourselves.
The International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) established World Environmental Health Day in 2011 to emphasise the importance of environmental care for human health.
The theme for 2024 is 'Environmental Health: Creating Resilient Communities through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation'. It emphasises the link between environmental health, climate change, and disaster risk management, calling for resilient communities that can address health risks related to climate change and natural disasters.
