SVAMITVA Scheme of Ministry of Panchayati Raj Wins National Award for e-Governance 2023
SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme of Ministry of Panchayati Raj was conferred with the prestigious National Award for e-Governance 2023 (Gold) for Application of Emerging Technologies for Providing Citizen Centric Services at the 26th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The representatives of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Survey of India and NIC-GIS received the National e-Governance Gold Award conferred to SVAMITVA Scheme in the category of Application of Emerging Technologies for Providing Citizen Centric Services from Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
SVAMITVA Scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj provides ownership to property owners in village-inhabited area by using latest drone and GIS technology. The Property Cards facilitate monetization of rural residential assets for bank loan and other financial benefits and help in the settlement of land-related disputes through the preparation of 5cm accuracy maps. The Scheme is implemented with the collaborative efforts of Survey of India being the technology implementation partner, State Revenue and Panchayati Raj Departments, and NIC–GIS.

Greek President Confers Modi with Country's Grand Cross Honour
Greece conferred the Grand Cross of the Order of Honour, the country's highest civilian order that can be awarded to a premier, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The award was presented to Modi, the first Indian premier to visit Greece in four decades, by Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou. Modi is also the first foreign head of government to receive the honour. On behalf of the people of India, Modi thanked the Greek President, the government and the people for this special honour.
The award ceremony was held at the presidential mansion in Athens.

The 69th National Film Awards
The winners of the 69th National Film Awards were announced. While Allu Arjun bagged the Best Actor award for the film Pushpa: The Rise, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon shared the award for Best Actress for the films Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi respectively. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect won the award for Best Feature Film. The Kashmir Files won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration at the 69th National Film Awards.
Shoojit Sircar's biographical historical drama Sardar Udham won several awards at the 69th National Film Awards. Apart from being named the Best Hindi Film, it also bagged Best Cinematography (Avik Mukhopadhyay), Best Audiography (Sinoy Joseph), Best Production Design (Dmitrii Malich and Mansi Dhruv Mehta) and Best Costume Design (Veera Kapur Ee) awards.
National Film Awards were first handed out in 1954 and were known as the 'State Awards'. At the time, only best films in different regional languages were recognised and awarded. The awards for actors and technicians working on the films were first given in 1967. Nargis was the first actress to win Best Actress for her performance in Raat Aur Din. Uttam Kumar won the Best Actor award for Antony Firingee and Chiriyakhana in the same year.

Rajasthan's Banasthali Vidyapith Receives Prestigious National Award Named after Rajiv Gandhi
Former vice president M. Hamid Ansari conferred the 25th Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award for 2020-21 on Banasthali Vidyapith, a residential institution for women in Rajasthan.
The award was handed over to Siddhartha Shastri of the institution in the presence of Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
The award, instituted in 1992 to mark the golden jubilee of the Quit India Movement, is given to an individual or institution for special contribution towards peace, communal harmony and national unity, and carries a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh and a citation.
It is presented on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Maharashtra's First 'Udyog Ratna' Award Conferred On Ratan Tata
The first-ever 'Udyog Ratna' award instituted by the Maharashtra government was conferred on veteran industrialist Ratan Tata.
The award was presented to Ratan Tata chairman emeritus of Tata Sons by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar at the industrialist's home in Colaba, south Mumbai.
The honour comprised a shawl, a citation and a memento from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
Ghana's Paa Kwesi Asare Wins 2023 BBC News Komla Dumor Award
Ghanaian TV presenter and journalist Paa Kwesi Asare won the 2023 BBC News Komla Dumor Award.
Asare is the eighth recipient of the award and the first to come from Ghana, like the late Komla Dumor.
Asare is currently the head of business news at Ghana's private TV3 channel, where he has worked for seven years as one of its main news anchors.
The award was created to honour Dumor, a presenter for BBC World News, who died suddenly aged 41 in 2014.
He had worked tirelessly to bring a more nuanced African narrative to the world, representing a confident, savvy and entrepreneurial side of Africa.
