Forbes India Leadership Awards 2025

The Forbes India Leadership Awards (FILA) 2025 concluded in a spectacular ceremony at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, celebrating the visionaries and change-makers of India's corporate and entrepreneurial landscape. This prestigious event recognised outstanding contributions in business, innovation, and leadership that have shaped the country's economic and social fabric.
Hosted by Forbes India, the ceremony brought together some of the most influential names in business, technology, and philanthropy, paying tribute to their transformative impact.
Emerging Innovator Award was bagged by BugWorks Research for Innovation in biotechnology
Outstanding Start-up Award was bagged by BrowserStack for Revolutionising software testing solutions
Icons of Excellence: Ajay Singh (SpiceJet) for leadership in aviation sector, Katrina Kaif (Kay Beauty) Entrepreneurship in beauty industry, Jay Shah (ICC) for contributions to global cricket governance, Shyam Srinivasan (Federal Bank) for leadership in financial sector and Mohit Joshi (Tech Mahindra) for driving technological transformation
Entrepreneur of the Year was Supam Maheshwari (FirstCry) in the category of leadership in baby and kids' retail market
CEO of the Year was Rajesh Jejurikar (Mahindra & Mahindra) for innovation in automobile sector and business expansion

Rishabh Pant Nominated for Laureus World Sports Award

Rishabh Pant was nominated for the prestigious Laureus World Sports Award 2025 in the comeback of the year category after his return to the Indian side after surviving a horrific car accident in December 2022. The awards ceremony will take place in Madrid on April 21.

Deep In Andhra Forest, Treasure Trove of Rock Paintings, Inscriptions

Ancient inscription, 800 to 2000 years old, were discovered at Kadapa's Lankkamala Reserve Forest in Andhra Pradesh, in what is being said to the biggest archaeological find in recent times. The survey by the Archaeological Survey of India also found rock art thought to be from the megalithic period.
The survey led to the discovery of three rock shelters. One of these contained stunning prehistoric paintings depicting animals, geometric patterns, and human figures.
The paintings, dating back to the Megalithic (Iron Age) and early historic periods (2500 BCE-2^nd century CE), were created using natural materials like red ochre, kaolin, animal fat, and crushed bones.
The rock inscriptions, dating between 4^th and 16^th Century CE, suggest that Lankamala was a major Shaivite pilgrim centre regularly visited by devotees from north India.

IFF Wins Global Privacy and Human Rights Award

The Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) won the Global Privacy and Human Rights Award in its maiden year. The award was presented in Taipei, Taiwan.
Founder and director of IFF, Apar Gupta, while accepting the award, said that he was accepting it on behalf of every Indian who believes in the fundamental power of privacy.

The 97th Academy Awards were held on March 3 at Los Angeles, Hollywood, California.
Adrien Brody and Mikey Madison took home the coveted honours of Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. Sean Baker's Anora was also crowned Best Film of the night.
The 97th Academy Awards saw an unexpected moment when Conan O'Brien, the first-time host, surprised viewers by addressing Indian audiences in Hindi.
Following is a short list of winners: Best Film: Anora, Best Actor: Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, Best Actress: Mikey Madison for Anora, Best Supporting Actor: Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain, Best Supporting Actress: Zoe Saldana for Emilia Perez, Best Director: Sean Baker for Anora, Best Cinematography: Lol Crawley for The Brutalist and Best Original Screenplay: Sean Baker for Anora.
