Raipur Sahitya Utsav 2026 set for January 23–25 in Nava Raipur
Raipur, 19 January 2026 — The Raipur Sahitya Utsav 2026 will take place from January 23 to 25 at Purkhouti Muktangan, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. Organisers expect around 120 writers and cultural figures from across Chhattisgarh and beyond, with 42 sessions planned. Themes include Indian knowledge traditions, constitutional debates, cinema and society, and discussions on Chhattisgarh literature from historical angles. The festival, aligned with centenary celebrations of a religious leader, will feature sessions on language standards in education and the role of literature in public discourse. 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference opens in Lucknow
The 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference began in Lucknow with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla flagging concerns about the declining duration of Assembly sessions. Birla stressed impartiality and the need for longer discussions to reflect the will of the people. The three‑day conference hosts presiding officers from 28 states, 3 Union Territories, and 6 Legislative Councils.
